(this isn't the 90's where everybody has dial-up anymore, but If ppl feel this image takes too long to load, I'll gladly resize it)
Or, you could get a clue and save it as a smegging JPEG.

The max size is 800xwhatever. There are still many people with dialup (TTLG is a worldwide forum, just because your country has cable everywhere doesn't mean everyone does) and people who have older screen that don't have fancy high-resolutions. And yes, jpg please.

There is. For thief 2 there is "ai first part" by tdBonko. For thief 1/gold there is the high poly patch by daemonite (or orgy, i can't recall which one did the AI meshes.)

damn.. file front is staying and it's still not getting any better... oh well, still beats Gamespy ¬_¬; oh.. don't mind me...
And why is everyone trying to change Thief into Thief DS?.. okay, just about still the point of some upgrades (though still a little iffy over some of the changes in some of them) but come on.. I wouldn't give up my megadrive games for anything.. Anyone remember the joke that was Golden Axe for the PS2? Leave graphics as they are and live in the past...

Manic: What's wrong with trying to make an old game look better? We already have a great game, why not improve it even further?
@albert: For AI first part, you need to make sure that these lines are in, and are uncommented, in your dark.cfg file:
ObjTextures16
MeshTextures16
Also, there was never a second part for the ai. tdBonko hasn't released anything new as far as I know: (

Are the files just Mesh's? if they are and are not in a sub folder, they could work IF you put them into the right subfolders (TXT, TXT16)..
I don't use it so i'm not quite sure about it's set up..
as for what happened to part two.. tdbonko is still around, why not PM him and ask?
sNeaksieGarrett on 6/4/2009 at 20:41
They're .bin and .cal files that go in the root directory of your mesh folder. There were no mesh texture replacements.
ManicMan on 6/4/2009 at 20:48
oh, as for the changes, i said some improvements no problem, but most i still seam to change the game too much. There is a limit. For example, 'upgrading' Sonic from, say, S2 GG version sprite to some green eyed polygon monster would ruin sooo much, it's not an improvement, it's a complete change.. too many soo-called improvements are like that.. which is where the Golden Axe comment comes in..

Well that's not how you said it in the last post, and I was simply commenting based on this:

Also, I don't know that joke so I don't know what you're talking about. If the "upgrade" is better than the old stuff, then I say why not? But if the upgrade sucks, then I wouldn't want it either. One good example of something that is kind of "meh" is the NTEX patch for thief. While upgrading the textures to modern standards, you change the feel of thief because the textures are so different.
Anyway, we're going offtopic.:o
