Hello there. I've installed Thief 2 and the latest NewDark patch (1.24). The game itself is running smoothly except for the videos.
It runs fine initially but once the CD-drive starts running, the video freezes and the sound hangs. It seems to have something to do with the CD-drive, as every time it starts running the game begins to stutter before it hangs a few second later, but I can't exclude it may be something else. Strangely, every renewed attempt results in the briefing video interrupting at a later time.
I've tried the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133946#movies4) official movie fixes and installed the (Indeo) codecs, but no luck.
Does anyone know what's the culprit and has an idea and how to solve it?
Some addition info in case relevant:

Did you use TafferPatcher to install NewDark 1.24? I think TP will copy the movies to the Thief2 install dir and amend the darkinst.cfg, negating the need for cd access.
