Thief 2 unplayable on integrated graphics chip. - by AfroTaffer

Yeah yeah, I know integrated graphics do very little for gaming, but in this case it should be more than enough for thief 2. Shipping and Receiving is painfully slow (below 10 FPS) on the dock area and other open sections on that level, even on 1024 x 600.
How come I can play modern titles like Portal, or Half Life 2 Episode 2 at my native resoution of 1366 x 786 and medium to low settings, but not this game which only handles like basic texturing and dynamic lighting from the nineties?
I have one of those new AMD processors, the Ontario C-50.

If you install DDFix, you could run it at your native resolution and it would probably run better (and look better, too). I ran T2 on integrated video for over a year before I bought a card and never had a major problem with it aside from the obvious technical constraints of doing so.

yup,as unbelievable as it may sound,if you have a slow graphics card,T2 may run really bad..I was getting around 14 FPS in certain parts of shipping and receiving when I tried the game on a radeon HD3450 (dedicated)..

Yeah I tried DDFix, but it's still bad framerate. Thanks for replying guys, I just posted to whine about this problem, I know the only solution is to get a better videocard. Damn, I really thought it would be enough. Dang.
