OK guys, need some help here please.
Been playing T2 FMs for many years with little problem until today.
Loaded up a mission I've played before, tried to start it and Thief crashed before the initial screen. The standard Win7 box "Unfortunately Thief 2 has stopped working" appears.
My T2 is all patched up to date and I have tried:
Reboot
Reloading Original Mission.
Removing spurious directories left behind on clear-up.
Replacing T2.exe with another copy.
Removing all files, deleting directory, running a Registry cleaner then replacing the files again.
Is there anything else that causes this problem? Thought I'd try here before a full uninstall\re-install.
Thanks.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I had installed PureBasic at around the same time. Just uninstalled and restarted, but no change.
If this means anything......

If you use FMSelector then you should have no "spurious directories left behind on clear-up".
My googling of 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 indicates it's a Windows error, not game specific but there seem to be quite a few reasons for it and I'm not technical enough to make suggestions. I'm moving this to Tech and Troubleshooting.

Install Tafferpatcher (again). This should fix it.

checking whether a quick, clean, new separate T2 install works fine is always a good start.

Thanks for the tips guys.
Re-installed Tafferpatcher. This gets me a bit further.
I can now launch the game and load a mission. The movie will play, but the game crashes on loading.
Oddly, the 'Thief Fan Mission Selector' Icon actually runs the loaded game - i.e. is really the Thief 2 icon.

You'll find "thief2.log" in the root folder. Please post it.

Ok, thanks guys. I was hoping to avoid it, but I'll go with a complete uninstall\re-install.
At least Tafferpatcher takes the hard work out of it.
There that's done it..............:D
