Hello,
I am trying to do a Let's Play with Thief 2 missions (for those unfamiliar you just play a game with yourself doing commentary) for some odd reason everything is incredibly dark. It looks absolutely fine for me but when i play back the video I can't see anything at all. I noticed when I turn the gamma down it actually makes it easier to see but not much, and of course I can't see much either when its down. Is this because of the missions? Or am I doing something wrong in the game itself? At first I thought it was my recording program but when I print screen to do a screenshot, the screenshot is incredibly dark too. I am running all of this on Windows XP so I didn't expect much of a problem. Any help would be really appreciated, I really want to get these videos with as clear of view of Thief as possible to show people what a great game it is. Thank you in advanced!

if you are using (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141148) the latest engine update, gamma should work properly. I did notice that Fraps seems to capture the video with decreased gamma, but that can be remedied easily by cranking it up when I want to capture the video.

Thank you for responding back! Though I did what you said and am still having issues. I updated everything Thief 2 and even my graphics card but Screenshots and in game recording are still both really dark. I actually went in and tried turning up and down the gamma while recording, it didn't show that anything was happening which was really weird. Even though it was clearly showing me low and high gamma settings they weren't registering on the recording. I have updated everything I can I don't know what I'm doing wrong :( I'll try anything I just want this to work!! :(

Woohoo!! I actually got it working, with help from my dad XD It was actually the gamma settings in my video card that were making capturing video so dark. I had to turn them all the way up so that I could get a brighter picture while recording. Thanks so much for your help! I will be posting the video on the forums as soon as I get it all done and edited :3
