As of build 7264 AA is now working again.

By the way.
Updated info here: I'm using W7 v.7264 RTC x64.
T2 TMA and T3 running smoothly, so far.:thumb:
Same here, along with a load of other 32bits apps I use. I might actually make the jump to 64bit when I move to w7.
if MS would only would include classic menu in W7 and I'd be 101% sold.

IF Windows is your choice, you SHOULD, my friend. I use Windows since 1987 (Windows 3.0). Never used x64 versions before 'cause I was always afraid about potential hardware compatibility issues. I don't know about Vista x64, but W7 was a pleasant surprise, I may say. And the x64 version was even better.:thumb: All my x32 apps run well. And there is a lot of x64 apps available (Look here: (
http://www.start64.com/))
About the 'classic' menu mentioned...do you mean the old Win98 menu look? you can change to the 'classic' look in W7, no problem.;)
About ddfix: I still cannot run it, even with the pre-patched version: the app crash when I try to load it. Seems to me this is a W7 issue, not only with the x64 version (I had the same problem with x32).:(
Any ideas?:tsktsk:

He means the classic start menu, instead of that abomination they've replaced it with. Thanks for breaking it, Microsoft.
(For the record, the idea of a searchable thing is fine by me, but it should be
in addition to a customisable, keyboards navigable menu, not completely replacing it.)

Do you mean Windows
2.0 :)? Because Windows
3.0 was released in 1990.

Yep. Sure.:p
Still crash when I try to load it. Too bad for me.:nono:
The widescreen trick works well, but still with the minor GF 8xxx graphic issues, here. Except for ddfix, I don't know how to fix it.
Still need suggestions, dudes...:erm:

Upgrade news: now I'm running the 7600 (x64) version of W7. Deafinetly worth a try.
Talking about TMA, the only change I notice (since the last build, v.7264) is the fact that I don't need to install it using the "-lgntforce" parameter anymore: somehow the game does not recognize Windows as a NT kernel, anymore. One less workaround here: that's good news, don't you think?:thumb:
An advice here: when I mess with video codecs (install the 'Shark' W7 x64 codecs), sometimes the game load without the movies. To fix this, I use a simple reg trick in the 'run' command
regsvr32 "c:\gamepath\LGVID.AX
and it works well. This one can be used with Thief Gold too, if needed.:thumb:

Or just always run the game through DarkLoader and leave the option to automatically re-register that codec enabled?
DDFix automatically re-registers it, too. (Though I still don't know why it doesn't work for you, since I had no issues with it in the RC).

sNeaksieGarrett, my friend
Derfy was the second person that managed to install and play T2 TMS without problems. This confirm my point: Windows 7 is THE OS for Thief gamers.:thumb:
Argh - why must you insist this? Just because two people got thief to run doesn't mean everyone will. Or that you won't have to use some sort of trick in order to make it work 100% as it is meant to.

Correction: Not only me and Derfy: you forgot to mention Bikerdude too.
I don't understand your point, really.:nono:
My intention here is only to show to Thief fans (just like us) that W7 seems to be almost perfectly compatible with TG and TMA, for orientation purposes only: I'm not trying to convince nobody to change or even use the OS.
What's your point in continuously denying the fact? only to mock me?
I have already tested both games/W7 in two different PCs: my q6600 Core 2 Quad/GF 8800 GTS 512/Gigabyte MB and a Pentium D/GF 6800GS/MSI MB, and they look good in both machines.
So, tell your impressions here after you test W7 yourself, otherwise the only thing you're proving here is the fact you're being stubborn, my friend, no offense.

Make that four, it worked for me too.
