I didn't install Thief Gold or Thief 2 onto my computer running windows 7, I just copied the folders over and edited the install paths in the cfg files. I needed to install the indeo drivers on the machine and do the affinity fix, and set them to run in XP compatibility for the movies to play, but both are running without any problems that I can see. I haven't checked T2 fog yet, but that'll be between the game and my video card, of course.
Sadly, DDfix doesn't seem to work under any condition.

I think it is a matter of time they fix this issue. ;)
As I said before, I've managed to run the first two games without any tweaks.
But how did you manage to install the old Indeo drivers? It seems to be incompatible even with Windows XP, since the stone age...:erm:

What do you mean? I'm pretty sure I was able to install the codecs on my XP machine.

As far as I remember, the old Ligos/Indeo codec is incompatible with WinXP...I'm not sure, though
What I AM sure is: the cutscene movies DOES work with W7, no need to install any 3rd party codec.:thumb:

That's great.
Regardings the old Indeo codecs: They should be installable on an XP system. It's possible it was your particular setup. I think though that in my case I had to put compatibility mode on the iv5play.exe to make it work, or some sort of technical workaround.

Just a quick side note here. Running W7 x64 7100. Installed T2, did all the usual steps, update, ddfix. Thief will load with a 1440x900 res, but it looks like it didn't apply it (looks like 640x480 to my untrained eyes). I get a trippy colorshow, followed by a crash soon after. However, it loads fine with 800x600 and 1280x1024. Looks awesome.

sNeaksieGarrett, my friend
Derfy was the second person that managed to install and play T2 TMS without problems. This confirm my point: Windows 7 is THE OS for Thief gamers.:thumb:

How did you manage to apply ddfix with Windows 7? this is the only 'issue' I had.
Please, clarify.:erm:

By the way.
Updated info here: I'm using W7 v.7264 RTC x64.
T2 TMA and T3 running smoothly, so far.:thumb:
Didn't installed TG or TDP yet, but I'm pretty sure it will run flawlessly too.:eww:
Namaste everybody

You should have no trouble using the pre-patched .exe method?
I'm not sure if it was because of DDFix (since my install of T2 already had it), but I had to run the game as Administrator in Windows 7 or else it would only run in software rendering (which is unplayable).

I have all my instances of T2.exe running as admin in Vista anyway, that's the only way movies work for me.
