I am woindering why this is happening, without the loot goal checkoff, I can not seem to finish any Thief 2 FM at all.
I just brought a used dell computer with these specs.
Dell Optiplex GX620
PIV 3.4
On Board Video Card (to which I am awaiting a new video card to install
EVGA GeForce 9400 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2, PCI (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, VGA, Low Profile)
2 gigs of Ram PC800
1 added Soundblaster card
400 Gig HD
MS XP Windows Pro
I know once I install the video card, it will be able to handle better graphics, right now I am not seeing the bubbles when I go into the water.
I brought this game to run Thief 2 on because my Windows 7 pro seems to lock(freeze) everytime I run Thief 2 ( dont ask, I dont like Windows 7 already)
my question is why does the look goal not check off once I have obtained the loot, example, city conflict. loot goal is 1500 loot, I have 1755 loot and the goal never clicked off.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
thanks

Sounds like you may be missing the convict.osm file. Check the FAQ or look for it on your CD.

Actually, I have gone in and checked, that file is there.
The only objective not ticking off, hoping I said it, is the loot only, all other objectives tick off. It could be a certain file, but I wonder which file it is that would stop it from ticking off.
I will try to re-install the convict.osm file, see if that helps any. also, searched the forums using, Loot, Objectives, not ticking off. I have come across a few ,but most were related the the editors guild. The search paramatters are not the same as they use to be, to much info to go through, but not a problem, unless I need to phrase the search paramatter better? any suggestions?
hopefully it is something as easy as a missing file, but it is strange that the only one objective does not tick off.
all advice and help is welcome
thanks

What is the date and size of your convict.osm?

I should have been more clear, Haplo's on the the right track here. You may need the updated convict, found here: (
http://thief-thecircle.com/download.asp?fid=603)
Compare your file's size and date stamp to that one.

ok, thanks guys, I will do just that. Though I do need to add a video card, sometimes things do not show up properly, for example, fire in this FM (Whispers in the Desert: From Beneath the Sands 2) does not show at times, for instance, when I open it up, I can hear the fire crackling, but I can not see it, another time, I open the game up and I see the flames, but when I save a game, it disappears.
I take it this issue would not be related.

strange I only brought this computer about 3 weeks ago, why would the modified date be inaccurate, or incorrect?
