OK, just to make it absolutely clear... running THIEF2.EXE to run the game after a manual installation does not work? You make it sound like you tried to run setup from your hard drive, which I wouldn't expect to work any better than running it from the cd...

It is the installation that does not work, period. I can not get past the Install at all. When I install, or try to install this Thief 2 cd rom, it gives me the option, install from the control panel, which I have tried, or The recommended install which is the CD Rom Drive Letter, which is E:\setup.exe -lgntforce to install under Win Xp, Home edition is what I have. It simply wont get past the installer at all, no matter what I try. I have read that sometimes Win XP Home is a bit slow to respond, which is not the case.
It simply wont move past the install, no files get installed. What it does it simply stop after I try the Normal Install, and or the Setup.exe -lgntforce setup.
There is no install, and wont install which is something I have never come across here in these forums before.

OK, don't worry about the install anymore. Setup.exe is no longer there, don't click on it, IGNORE IT COMPLETELY.
Now, put the installation CD in. If it pops up any autoruns at you, close them.
Go to "My Computer", right click on the cd drive, click "Open".
Follow the instructions (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1568039#post1568039) here. Note it does not ask you to run the install program that is not working for you. You just copy the necessary files to a folder on your hard drive yourself.
Run THIEF2.EXE.

Ok, I will try it this way again as you have posted. I will try it this weekend and see if (Crossing my fingers) it works.
Thank again, you have been very helpful and patient.
