Ok, here's a question that hopefully I won't find the answer to myself in 5 seconds after scratching my head for hours...
How do I help the spirit in the mirror in the King's quarters? Or does that automatically come later as a result of concluding the mission? Also, I just "became" the king and unlocked the door for Garrett, but now I've lost most of my equipment, including the ballet shoes =(
Also, what do I do with the tower key that I got from the library? I went to the top of the water tower but I can't get it to do anything.

"Help Me"? I think that was
Garrett's conscience.
Tried taking the crown?
With the
King, at that point you have two options. Either
use the whistle or bump into Garrett.Orrrr. Save the game and wait ten minutes... :ebil::joke:
Edit: Crap! You've gone past that point!
Your view should change back right after you open the door. Once you are back as G, go down the stairs. If you're still the king, try reloading a previous save.Quote Posted by EmperorSteele

t may or may not open the doors to the stairwells.

ten minutes?! ugh. But okay, if it's for the lulz, I can handle it!
Also, upon finishing the mission and getting what appears to be a fairly decent ending, except that the king will never try to marry again, I seem to have only gotten 5 out of 13 secrets. Is there a secrets list anywhere?

So finally finished this mission last night. I'm joining the chorus of "Awesome appearance, story and scripting, but maddeningly frustrating gameplay''. I'm not sure how to feel about secrets that are meant to never be found, that require you to click around blindly to find things, especially when such some secrets that are required to finish the mission or understand the plot. I was also frustrated that half the castle was locked off for plot purposes, especially when you have to go half-way around the castle to get to the next floor when there's a set of stairs right next to you. I mean, I -get- it, but realistically there's no reason all those areas would have been inaccessible. In fact, it wasn't until the very end that I understood why I didn't have a 2nd floor map: It was under construction, derp! I wish this had been spelled out better. Randomly bricked-up passages seemed like the author trying to block the player's access.
The lack of clues was also curious. At the very least, you should throw people a bone if they're playing on "normal" and make some more readables/hints, especially if you're essentially going to make them play on expert-level difficulty by taking away their ability to kill guards. Spell things out; don't say to "neutralize" the doctor, actually tell players to lock him in the stable, at least on "Normal". (WHY couldn't I just knock him out again?)
However, I cannot applaud the author enough for actually giving Garrett choices and the ability to alter the plot: to take the crown or not; saving the bride; allowing the king to help or kill Garrett; and while Garrett's reasons for switching the music escaped me (I didn't find the secret about how the normal score would have transformed the king until AFTER the fact. That should be laid out for the player to see, not hidden above a doorway) (and also the fact that the band should have known it wasn't the right score-- they DO rehearse before a show!), I have to say that sequence is one of the niftiest things I've seen in a Thief mission ever! Lots of clever bits all over: the shoes, the animal puzzle, the transformation sequence. There's a LOT of wonderful elements to this mission that are blocked by hard-to-solve puzzles and gameplay (finding the hammer to unlock the dumbwaiter; a "required" conversation that won't go off unless you find a tiny switch on a ceiling; unclear objectives/lack of clues) making for an experience that can be more frustrating than rewarding at times.
If Zontik ever makes another FM, I hope it maintains the same level of visual and story-telling excellence... but is also a little easier =)

Trust me, there is a lot more you haven't discovered.
Try reaching the brides room withing 30 seconds of the can can score.
Tried zooming in at the castle from the observatory?
Tried getting into the King's Chapel after ruining W.Angers plan?
What if EEGG instead of AACE
What if you tried using the result in the stables?
What if you tried using the result during the final battle?
There is more than one way to defeat W.Anger in the final battle

I found the hidden readable file detailing all the secrets and eggs (wish I'd figured that one out before coming onto the forums to complain!), so yeah, I know about those! It's amazing what Zontik was able to not only think of, but execute, knowing that almost no one would find these things without so much as a nudge!

This may have been already answered but is the opening cutscene meant to be in Russian? Not a big deal but I just wondered if something hadn't installed right.

Everything is right. Subtitles are in English.

According to the walkthrough, which is answers to questions, there's supposed to be something in the corner of one of the pictures in the King's toilet. I have scrutinised each corner of each picture and I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for.
Any help please? Thanks a lot
