take a peek thru the glass double-doors leading to the stairway. Look really carefully! If you're talking about the broken key in the keyhole, I'm already past that. :)

Well, then I'm quite confused. Where exactly are you stuck?
If you've dealt with the broken key getting down to the ground floor should be a cinch.

shot the broken key but didn't notice it earlier on the floor. :o Thanks for helping slavatrumpevitch! :)

It's not a riddle, just code lock. So
you will find the combination when the time comes.I found a place to use the code but entering the code doesn't do anything. Maybe its not the right time?
btw when I started the second mission the framerate was very slow. Restarting Thief 2 solved that problem, but if I let it sit with Garrett standing in one place for a while... maybe 15 minutes or more the framerate drops again, and Thief crashes when I try to exit. This doesn't occur on any other FM.

I guess it's not the right code. You have to collect
three; one of them will be correct.About framerate - unfortunately I can't help here. FM is overloaded with stuff, so it will probably always go slow on some PCs. If you have slowing down while playing - it's something new for me; if you are playing under 1.18, I would suggest to use 1.19 or 1.2x instead. FM is compartible with any.

Thanks Zontik :) I'm using 1.21. The framerate is fine as long as I don't just sit around for a long time.:p

Hi, I'm replaying this for the first time since it came out. King's Chant has seemed far more difficult this time around, but after resorting to this thread, it seems I should have a map. Do I find it somewhere, or is it a problem with my game files?

IIRC:
On the second mission, go into the stables, go up and around the building your were below in to what I think was the architects room.
(It's essentially to the left of your starting BUT the door is locked or guarded)
It's either on the wall or as a scroll/book you can read.

Thanks bob. I've finished now, but I'll try and remember for next time (some chance).:thumb:

I need some help here, please. Playing on Largo (difficult) I see no "spoiler" icon. Oh, well, here goes:
I Love this FM! I'm on the 3rd floor trying to retrieve the key that is stuck in the door. I listened to the conversations of the King, Dr., and the Guard....the only one speaking English...haha. My new objective is to lift the key from the Valet wearing a blue sash who is probably downstairs. Since my mode of exiting has crashed and burned, I remembered from the other two playing levels that I had to hit the doorknob in the hallway, just off the Aides room, with an arrow or b.j. to cause the key to fall out and then run to the other side and reach through the broken window to get the key. This method failed me 3 times. Struck by a sudden thought that this level has another solution, and I have no idea what, I am reaching out to some kind spirit for help. HOW DO I GET THAT KEY!
Changed playing level to Largo
