Fabulous mission. I <cough> love the fog in the first mission but the second mission is awesome. I finished the second mission in around 7hrs with 9 secrets. Time for a replay for those alternative endings.
BTW T2 is a 32-bit process and can only access 2GB of memory (yes, I know about /3G and largeaddressaware). Those people with more memory (8GB I think someone mentioned) won't benefit thief, except as a disc cache maybe. Anyway, I tried giving T2 twice as much vidmem as usual by having DDFix return that it could access 512MB of graphics mem but I still got the slowdown. Also, when the slowdown that occurs when transitioning from the first to the second mission task manager reports about 180MB of ram being used by T2 - not much. Something going on with texture memory perhaps.

How does one go about doing this? I've got a Radeon 4850 HD card with 1 GB memory - I'd like to know how to get thief to use more of it. Is there a tutorial somewhere that I've missed? Its the first I've seen or heard of it. I have DDfix installed but the DDfixGUI.exe file always fails when I try to open it (Dunno if its due to using Vista 64 bit or what) so I can't see if there is a setting in there.

Well I've just about run the leather off my ballet shoes and come to a bit of a stop in this great FM experience!
Managed to do the happy ending, sustained a bit of damage on the way and was a little disappointed in the lack of fight in Mr Anger - especially after that ‘non-entity' jibe! - but enjoyed the final wedding cut scene and the shot of Garrett saluting to the camera from his hiding place.
On Largo:
Stealing the crown - only just met the loot objective, finishing 2350 / 3333 and 8 / 13 secrets
Leaving the crown - finished 3180 / 3333 and 11 / 13 secrets (way too many hours!)
I'd still be stuck on the third floor - and other places too - if it weren't for this thread and the hints and help from people here.
Zontik, a truly big thank you for giving us these 2 supremely crafted, beautiful-to-look-at , and challenging FMs (sometimes painfully challenging, well for me!) kept together with a really compelling story (Mission 2 particularly). Also credit to the team who must have put in a considerable effort to help get KS released - just to pick one area I thought, in general, the translations were excellent. Bravo!

Finished on moderato after 6 hours. Only 6 secrets though. Without the help given here I would have never made it through. Thank you Zontik for a marvelous mission!
I will eventually replay it to get a better ending, especially after reading Sagittal's post!
