Stuck in Dumbwaiter
Dahenjo,
When the dumbwaiter stops the wooden door at the top will open at the same time you will get a whispered message from Gabriel and a rope arrow will appear close by - you will need to use it to get out at the top. Sometimes this doesn't happen automatically  - try jumping around or making a noise with your BJ
You wont be able to find the valet yet - you will get an objective about him later - you've BJ'd someone else!

Thanks, Sagittal!
I banged on the wall a couple times with the BJ and the sequence happened as you described. Until doing that there were just creaking noises, the door stayed closed and I was stuck. Now I'm moving again in this beautiful but challenging mission!

Fed up with this FM just got as far as getting moss arrowa off peak and cannot progress further. I think I see where to go but cannot mantle up and as no clear path I may be wasting my time any ideas please before I pull the plug . The number of pages in this thread after such a short time there must mean something wrong and I do not know if I want to progress

Fidcal, you need to find a way back to the ground floor.
Don't think about elevator shaft, this way is completely broken.
Look at the inactive door you mentioned from another side. Door glass may prevent you from direct view, so don't shy.
I suppose you've read valet's message downstairs. Don't take it literally, 'heavy' object may be just a metaphoric image. Something else you have can help better. In the same boat here -
busted the glass on the door & saw the key - shot an arrow and the key turned and gave me the Dromed "unlocked" sound. But door won't open. Let me guess there's 8 other things I need to do before the trigger is set for the door to open?
Thanks for any help and just tell me what I'm doing wrong please (no clues) as I'm pretty much fed up with these
"how the hell would I have ever figured that out?" moments. :weird:
Beautiful map - but extremely confusing with too much hidden stuff IMO. The author has to remember we didn't have Dromed open when he built it & not mind readers either. If this FM would have flowed better with at least some better clues - could have been one of the top ones IMO. But then maybe I'm just being dense here also. Also getting the memory leak/choppy play
(even after reboot) issue - maybe would have been better to split the second map into two maps - probably pushing poor ole Dromed a lil too much. LOL
That being said - an amazing piece of Dromeding otherwise - so congrats on that.

Sounds like you've done everything right Garrettwanabe - if you heard the noise and actually saw the key move?
When you go round to the other side of that door it should now open no problem ? The key will have fallen onto the floor - by then - and you'll need it for all the tower staircase doors.

DOH! Nevermind -
a door that was unfrobbable (or locked - can't remember) before on the other side - is now open and thus can get on the other side...so the lock unlocks the side door and not the double doors? That's what confused me here I guess....in case someone else is as dense like I was here...lol
Thanks for the help....

I think I screwed myself here...
finally, with much help from here, I managed to get the throne hall open..
in the meanwhile I wacked every guard i came across.. and now with all the new guards popping up I get my find body objective failed...:p :(
the most stupid thing... I helped Zontik with the translation... use several slots etc.. .... man, do I feel stupid...only using my quick save.. ;)
so, nothing left but starting up mission 2 again .. at least I won't have that much difficulty puzzling my way through this mission...:cheeky:

There is a corridor just off the kitchen with cross-beams that you can climb atop. That gets you into the vents. I didn't have the maul, but I managed with my sword to beat the bejaysus out of the dumbwaiter obstruction... I've been all over that corridor, but how do you actually
climb on the crossbeams? I don't have a rope arrow. There's nothing I see upon which I can climb to reach the beams. And there's a guard that almost never leaves from patroling the area.

there are several palces you can find ropearrows
f.e in the barracks, frob right from the window on the left when you enter,
there are at least two more rooms that have arows hanging over the fireplace

(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131684&page=43) if you stuck, don't try to finish it in one day, you'll be glad, take your time and play or rather experience it. It's epic, after all, FMs of such scope and quality appear only once in several years.
