Frob it, and
frobbing again. I went back and checked this issue and discovered
you can only frob the slippers after the bride has been killed.
I don't think so Shadows - certainly not for me. You should get them as early as you can as they're so useful - I just had to keep frobbing and letting Garrett make his comments before they finally went into inventory.

Oddly, I'm having the opposite. The game crashes if I wait until after, I was able to get them by going way back to an older save...
So now I'm stuck - do I replay two hours gameplay... or say screw it and not bother finishing it? I've got the feeling there's a whole slew of *** I did out of order which is why things aren't quite working out right.
Since I've still got no clue what to 'mix' or what to do with that funky stone cube that looks like someone chopped the top off a metronome.

deathshadow, they're not essential to complete the mission particularly if you have a few moss arrows available - just damn useful . I did spend a lot of the mission without realising their potential but I'd brought 10 or so moss arrows from Mission 1.
Regards your last point: the two are
linked and you will need the "mixture" first. You might not have got to that stage yet - you will need to have solved the puzzle in the Throne Hall and met up with the Doctor again, following instructions, to get access to his apartments

Yeah I see the possible memory leak now - or rather the results of it. Exit and reload at the start then load my current gamesave and its using 400MB more. I don't know if the dark engine loads more textures as it progresses though so that might be normal. Anyway, for now it is using about 850MB out of 2000 so no disk thrashing yet.
The fps is constant though at about 5fps whether I reload or even reboot or whatever. It is really spoiling this for me now and if it continues to deteriorate then it will not be possible to continue. Wish I could get this to work on my other PC.

you will need to have solved the puzzle in the Throne Hall you will need to have solved the puzzle in the Throne Hall?!?
1) What
throne hall - It's on the map, but shouldn't there be a
throne in a throne hall and not an altar?
2) Nothing in there frobs, and I've found nothing to indicate there is anything to do in that area on either level, apart from
laughing at the moving statue. One readable mentions
'one last bottle' behind the throne but since there's no
throne for anything to be BEHIND...
Seriously, what "puzzle"? Is there a readable that explains there is a puzzle and where you are supposed to go to deal with it?

I went back to check, yes you're right. :D Damn now Garrett has a life of his own, not obeying your orders!:cheeky:
Sorry for the confusion caused, the slippers CAN be obtained anytime.

deathshadow, look on the floor. Mouse and other animals...

Throne Room Puzzle
OK deathshadow, to solve the Throne Hall (with no throne!) puzzle you need first to have found a cryptic note regarding a mouse and other animals - found if playng Largo outside the library
You then need to make the connection with the Throne Hall floor and follow the note - and be ready to wait
Outright spoil that you may not want to see first: You need to stand on each animal mentioned in turn - and wait for a neat puzzle to construct and a door to open nearby - don't move on until the animal you're standing on has activated with a noise and a visual representation of the animal has appeared above it
The note order if you can't make it out is: Mouse - Gazelle - Boar - Fox - Dog - Wolf
