Location of Maul - Allegro or LargoQuote Posted by doug
thanks got thr key, but in room 3 i cant find the maul, am i looking for a hidden switch
You're looking for a
ticking clock in the South Wing, Rm opposite the external door again if you're playing on Largo or Allegro - probably Moderato as well?

Zontik wants some (short) feedback for his efforts? Here's mine:
This FM is the biggest blunder in Thief FM history in many years. Sure, it may be the most beautiful FM to be released in many years, but the sad fact is that many players will never get to see the beautiful parts of this due to horrible design decisions and rampant doses of frustrating game elements.
This FM starts with the player travelling through...mountains, I guess, to reach a castle. First design failure can be seen the moment the FM starts: Every visible surface uses the same texture. That single mistake makes navigating the area much harder than it should be, not to mention making it all look bloody hideous. It's hard enough already to know where you're supposed to go, with punishing leaps of faith, insanely well hidden pathways and almost no hints to tell you you're on the right track. Early on I saw a ghost standing on a rock (I actually missed him the first time round) shaking his head. I had no way to know if he was telling me "This is the right way to go" or "This is the wrong way to go", so I wasted time looking for other paths.
30 minutes into this FM I'm stuck at a cave with a rope arrow in a chest, a suspicious looking tree nearby located too far up to be of any use to me (yes, I checked) and no apparent way to proceed, so I logged into this forum to see how other people were doing with this FM. It confirmed my suspicions: You screwed up. Badly. How this FM got through the testing phase is a mystery to me.
I'm not going to wait for a walkthrough, I'm just not going to bother playing this any longer. It's not worth it. Congratulations, you created the Daikatana of Thief FM's.
Unkillable Cat, you might consider slowing down and maybe just try to show more consideration and benefit of the doubt for others instead of assuming the worst.

Why is it always bad when someone gives an honest opinion that isn't just kittens and rainbows?
Reasons were given for why the player feels that way, and rather good ones at that. I don't think this mission is horrible by any means - but it is very, very frustrating from a player's perspective. Slowing down will not help mask terrible gameplay design decisions.
The withholding of information and repeatedly saying "slow down and enjoy the frustration" is not going to make anything better. This point seems to be getting lost on you clearing ;)
How will authors grow if everyone pats them on the back no matter what and says "atta boy, perfect mission!"

I have some questions.
Decided to check the easiest ending, and took the crown. There was a tunnel key under it, I suppose it's for the grate leading outside in one of the towers, but when I try to use it Garrett says "not yet". Is it because I have not the required amount of loot yet? If yes, then is it possible to get enough on Largo to get this ending? I have 2025 currently out of 2300 required. The last question is because I have not access to some unexplored yet areas since I chose to take the crown, and I suppose there should be plenty, and I seem to swept all accessible areas quite meticulously
Also, is there a secret in the engineer's bathroom?
Also, the goblet which is on the railing of the water tower, top floor, is it a secret? I shot it with a broadhead and I thought it landed in the courtyard, but now cannot find it for the life of me.

@ Zotnik
Thanks, it moved the story. BTW funny thing: I left a body in a room with a rat and... he found it ^^ Objective failed.

Agreed :)
Need
constructive critiques.

Unkillable Cat may have been posting right after a frustrating experience, hence it not being the most eloquently worded critique - but there were valid reasons given for those frustrations rather than just saying "this mission is awful." Hopefully UC will post a full review at some point once their hair grows back ;)

I have crashes during the first conversation in part 2. Anyone else with the same problem?
