I have both dromed.exe and thief2.exe installed in the same folder, so both use the same cfg files. I can play any mis file in dromed with no problems, but when I play thief2.exe I am unable to move or select any weapons. The game doesn't freeze like it would with the processor affinity problem. The AI are still walking around and talking. The only thing I can do is crtl-alt-del and go to the task manager to end thief2.exe.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I have ddfix installed and have affinity set to one processor on both thief2.exe and dromed.exe.

You may want to use a separate install folder if you are going to use dromed. Can you look around using the mouse when you are ingame?
Here are some things to try:
1. Maybe your keyboard controls have gotten overwritten. When you start the game go into options and check to make sure your keyboard controls are mapped correctly to the keys you want to use for movement, weapons etc. You might just have to reload the default key mappings.
2. As a last resort uninstall (and delete your thief2 folder) and reinstall the game. It's been a long time since I've fooled around with dromed but again you may just want to leave your default thief2 folder alone and make a separate thief2 install and install dromed there.

Normally I do use one folder for dromed and the other for playing Thief 2 lol. Since in this case they are in the same folder they both use the same keyboard bindings, and they work in dromed. I'm having the same issue in my other Thief 2 folders, and it started when I installed ddfix.
When I reinstalled Thief 2 into a completely new folder, not only was I not able to move, but the colors on the screen were psychedelic. :( That folder did not have ddfix installed.

Yeah, it sounds like a ddfix issue. Have you used ddfix successfully before and if so what version? What version are you trying to use now?

Well so far I've only used it on dromed, and then haven't been around much in a long time. I got kinda sidetracked and never tried it on Thief 2 until recently. I'm using version 1.4.3 alpha. When I get home from work tonight (meaning Thursday night) I'll check for the latest version. :)

Ok I downloaded the latest ddfix and installed it. Now I get a black screen but I can still see the text at the bottom of the screen when I select a weapon, and at least it didn't prevent me from moving. Since I'm right at the point of starting beta testing, I'm going to put this problem on hold and use a non ddfix installation of Thief 2 and come back to this problem after my mission has released. Thanks Nathan for your help. :)

No problem. Good luck with the testing. If you need more help post again and we'll see if we can't get it working right. :D
