HI!
Thief Gold runs well with my computer all videos runs fine too with OR without ddfix...
thief 2 runs BUT doesn´t play cutscene videos. If I use ddfix and register LGVID.AX every time the game runs then it crashes to desktop. I thought is DPLAYERX.DLL would be too old but I can´t find it anywhere on my computer, except in thef 2 installation dfolder of course.
I tried manually play avis with Windows Media Player...no good, I tried
also VLC Media Player, no good, I can ONLY hear sound, no picture.
I use Dual core intel CPU
Vista x64 Ultimate
6GB RAM
Geforce 8800 Ultra
any help? I would like to see videos...
PS. I run always games in admin rights, and "as invoker"(=UAC off)
and I have tried compatibility mode, and yes I have installed DX 9.0c over DX 10 so it´s not the problem
thanx
PSS. HEEEEYYY; I tried run Thief 2 avis in thief Gold....IT WORKED WELL. Thief 2 intro.avi ran well in Thief Gold but crashes in Thief 2, what is going on?
any leads??

Stupid me, I thought that Thief 1 and 2 would have installed indeo 5 codecs
automatically....
I got videos running again...strange that without indeo 5 thief gold avi files DID
work...

Just in case anyone else ends up at this thread when searching for the same problem:
I had a similar problem on my Vista setup. Thief Gold ran fine (after using the regindeo.bat method and applying the multi-core processor/DDFIX/Widescreen patches), videos and all (just as long as I ran the .exe as an administrator). While Thief 2 was okay, it wouldn't display videos by default and running as an administrator would make the game crash if videos were played.
My solution was to simply change Thief2.exe's compatibility to Windows XP SP2 (something I didn't have to do with Thief Gold). Now when I run it as administrator the videos play fine and don't crash the game.
