That fixed thief gold and thief 2. but there is no change in t2x. Any ideas, please? When I searched my T2X problem on google somebody else encountered my same exact problem with T2X ((
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1316380)). He said he fixed it by rebooting his system and turning the settings down. Turning all the settings down does yield a barely noticeable increase of smoothness. But not much. Thanks for all your help so far.

Remind is there a separate T2X.exe file or T2.exe file in the T2X folder...? if yes then you will have to do the dual core fix on that as well..

There is a separate t2x.exe file but the game runs straight from the thief 2 exe. The t2x.exe does not have the fix but the thief 2 one does. Should I still do the duel core fix for the t2x.exe?

It indeed doesn't hurt, but for future reference:
The thief2x.exe in the v1.1 version doesn't do anything. It was just provided so old shortcuts wouldn't break. T2x v1.1 should be started using the shortcut (It starts t2x by calling thief2.exe with the t2x folder set as the "Start in" folder).
Probable fix for 1130210's issue:
To use ddfix with t2x you need to copy the ddfix.ini to the t2x folder.

I fixed the problem enough for the game to be playable. Thank you and addlink. You cannot apply the patch in the T2X directory but I read somewhere that by copying the same ddfix.ini (already patched) from the Thief 2 directory will apply the patch. And it did. I ran the game only to realize it still ran quite slow. By enabling everything to the highest settings and increasing the resolution it now runs fast enough. I say fast enough because there is still a noticeable change in performance on high demanding areas in the game. I think this is because fog cannot be enabled (but don't hold me to this statement). I read there is no fix for fog on the vista OS. I was wondering if there is a fix but I just missed it? If not no big deal it finally runs fast enough for me to be able to enjoy it. Thank you two so much! :thumb:
