(I heard a track with Half-Life samples some time ago).
I think it's the other way around...the Half-Life score uses samples from liscensed music, much like how sound effect libraries in films, games, commercials etc. often overlap. Occasionally, I'll hear clips of music in South Park that have been used in Half-Life - always makes me chuckle.
I always do a double take when I hear certain sound fx used in television that I've heard in games. There are a few door sounds (for example) commonly used that I have heavy association with Daggerfall. It's a strange sensation to be watching a sitcom or something and suddenly have dungeon flashbacks!

CSI NY had an explosion sound recently that i'll always associate with half-life, hah.

but is there any chance someone could re-host the thief soundtrack? none of the original or updated links work anymore.
cheers :)

If someone can get it to me, or let me know where to find it, I'll host it up on southquarter.com.

People, I have been doing this type of stuff for years! I'm sure that there are plenty of others as well. You know, it is really quite simple. Any sound edit program that allows copy and paste will do the trick. Take any song you find or made yourself and start pasting clips wherever you want. The point is, you can easily make a Dark Project soundtrack yourself.

Great, so when will you be finished with that so I can host it on southquarter?

I think there must be something on my hard disk... My little brother did some tracks for Bafford/Ramirez (?), Cragscleft, the Catacombs and Constantine's Mannor (and HH, but as far as I know I wanted him to do some changes there). Sounded really nice, but the guy is a little lazy. He

Wow, that's weird. I only just got the notice that there were new posts in the thread. Straaaaange.
Anywho, sure, I can re-up it. Considering all the trouble last time, I'm just going to use the the method that I use most often nowadays (and that works great), which is Bit Torrent. You can download the torrent with this link: (
http://www.demonoid.com/files/download/HTTP/1135855/)
I'm seeding now. If you're unfamiliar with BT, you can easily grab a client from the web (there are zillions of 'em. uTorrent, while not my favorite, is probably the easiest), or just hang tight for someone else to grab the file and re-post it as a direct-download.
Once others have gotten this and have taken over the seeding, I'll do the System Shock 2 soundtrack.
