Well, for what it's worth...
A. Prior to posting, I test downloaded the file, to make sure the server didn't alter it or anything, and yes, it played fine.
B. AlbumWrap doesn't alter the MP3s at all. The tracks are merely bundled in a playable format, with an index added. It's that index that can get corrupted if someone changes the ID3 tag, and if they do, it will still play, you just can't get "in" to the archive to extract the tracks again.
Since it's been mentioned, I just tried to play the file with WMP and MPC. Neither wanted to play it. Weird. However, any "music" player should handle it just fine. Don't know why the "video" players aren't seeing it properly. Still, if you use a video player for your audios, and want to stick with what you know, simply grab one of the free extractor tools and extract the tracks. :)

I was just listening to some Internet radio station when I heard a song that had hammerite and guard samples from TDP: Art of Fighters - Earthquake ((
http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF215511-01-02-11.mp3) short sample). The soundtrack link doesn't work for me, so I can't check if the song was in it.

Hah! That's hilarious. Techno-rave-dance music with Thief lines. Gawd, how disturbing. lol

Really? Have you tried the (
http://files.filefront.com/Thief___The_Dark_Soundtrack_ALBWmp3/;5041637;;/fileinfo.html) updated link? I don't see how anyone could be having a problem with it. The FileFront setup is fairly easy and straight-forward, and they're an established download site, specializing in game-related files. Seems to be working well for everyone.
Heh, and no, that song isn't in it. You couldn't have paid me to include it. lol
Not to mention it wouldn't fit the compilation. It's not that sort of soundtrack.
There are pretty much two types of soundtracks. The first, of course, being the actual music from the [show/game/movie/whatever], the second being music "inspired by" and/or "heard on" it. I've run into that more than once, where I thought I'd gotten an actual soundtrack, and it just turned out to be a bunch of popular songs by various bands that were heard on the show/movie. The Thief soundtrack is mostly the actual music and lines from the game, with a few items added that were custom variations done by fans, but still fit right in with the mood and theme. Call it about 80% actual, pure soundtrack, and 20% customized, original or semi-original, Thief-like variations. The song you mentioned above is just some dance tune that has nothing to do with Thief, that they simply tossed a few Thief lines into. Cool that they did that (I think), but no, you couldn't consider something like that a Thief tune.

The full song gets even worse towards the end. Not quite en par with Eric Brosius... Industrial music has always featured samples from movies, but now games are being sampled aswell (I heard a track with Half-Life samples some time ago). It really shows that games are becoming more mainstream. Kind of cool, I agree.
All Filefront mirrors timed out on me before, but still prevented me from downloading later. I fixed it by clearing the browser cache, although download speed is very slow. I was afraid that they removed the file like they did when someone uploaded Mysterdev's T:DS soundtrack.

I have loved thief since 98 and the ambient music still captivates and enriches my imagination to this day and every now and then I get the urge to search for a soundtrack to no avail until today.
I registered on this forum solely to search for the soundtrack and I want to say thank you Kurgan, I really appreciate it.
