A-HA! Weeellll, that tells me part of the problem. Not only was Javascript disabled, it wasn't even installed on the computer I was using yesterday (I'm at a university library, my only link to the internet...)! It's installed and enabled on this one, today.
I did see a timer for the HTTP option and the P2P option. The FTP option had no timer and the screen appeared to just reload when I clicked on it. I usually get a message when javascript is required. There may be a problem with the pop-up blocker, too. I chose the option to temporarily allow pop-ups from the site. Hmmm.
Now that I'm on a different computer with java, I'll try to download again. In the meantime, thanks for troubleshooting with me. These computers are all leased through Dell and have I.Explorer. The software was updated (to an as-of-yet-unknown extent) last month when the Dell rep. came through to service them.
I wish he could've replaced all the CD-RW and DVD-R drives/software that have ceased to work.
Anyway, I'll report....:

Aaaallll-righty then.... Yes, I've had some differing results, but still no cigar. Last night--I recall this now--the P2P option required that I upgrade the computer with Red Swoosh. I cannot do that, BUT, I saw the green timer for a second before the screen blinked and I was denied. I almost got in! The other options download a 107kb mp3 file that is unplayable, or nothing happens, or it goes back a screen. I'd pay the dollar if I was fairly certain it was going to work.

This is so weird.
I gave the link to a friend of mine yesterday, and he had the exact same problem. Unless false starts count, there've been 151 successful downloads so far. When I opened the 107kb file (yep, I got that, too, when I tried to re-download it myself) using notepad, it's actually an html page, and if I'm reading the message correctly, I suspect the links are working, but the servers are just overloaded.
Anywho, after jtr7 posted about his inability to download the file, I did try to re-upload it elsewhere. The problem is that all of these "free" services seem to be getting hammered by so many users that nothing works. I've tried to upload it to three other services so far, and all of them got disconnected during the upload. I even tried to use my Yahoo Briefcase's public download folder, which I added space to when I set up my ISP account (SBC Yahoo gives you various freebie upgrades, and each time I had a choice I just tossed more space onto my briefcase), but I only now discovered that all that space (1 gig) is useless, because the maximum file size has been dropped to 15 MBs! The only service I've found that has worked for me is YouSendIt.com, and I didn't want to use it for this, because that one's now limited on the number of downloads (10, I think, --used to be unlimited), and now the downloads also get erased after 7 days.
I'll continue to try and get this uploaded somewhere else (that works), and will post an updated link as soon as I can. I've just got to locate someplace that actually works, and doesn't have so many limitations. I'd use my own website, but am scared to death to host something with an MP3 extension. I've run into problems with that before. Everyone's so spooked about the RIAA/MPAA nazis that even hosting non-copyrighted, perfectly legal stuff makes them panic and start shutting down accounts, because they don't take the time to check on what it is. They just see "MP3" and start hyperventilating. It's eerily like McCarthyism with a face-lift, aiming at a new target. Gives me the creeps.
Anyway, hang tight. I'll keep trying.

Ok, folks, I finally got it hosted someplace where the link works! Whoohoo!!!
The link above has been updated, but here it is again:
(

God bless FileFront. :)
By the way, I had someone test download it, and it worked, but they suggested I tell people to right-click and "save as," since it's an MP3 and some systems may try to play it. Wait until you get to the actual sever links before doing that.

All right! Again, I thank you, Kurgan, for your efforts.:thumb:
I will attempt to download and report back, now.

Okay. It was looking like a 2-hour download time, as the timer kept climbing steadily. Then it suddenly plunged down to 17 minutes. It keeps dropping to 15, then back up to 17. It's transferring, and it's at 18%, now, but the timer is staying at roughly 16 minutes. So it's probably more like a half-hour, now. The file is definitely not 107Kb. Traffic?

Traffic?
Welcome to the wonderful world of public servers. :)
For what it's worth, I had a friend do a test download prior to me posting the new link, and she got a steady 100+KB/sec download. Had it done in about 20 minutes.
Wow, the new link's already had almost two dozen downloads. Far out.

Okay. I'm back at the library for what I expect to be my final attempt to download the music. My final attempt because IT WILL WORK. I've got the time, now, and the patience in case download time goes over twenty minutes.
My next report will be a positive one.:thumb:

Gah, finally I managed to download it (had to retry 4 times) !
Thanks a lot Kurgan, I already had some musics, mainly from The Circle, but some are new to me :D
Finally found something interesting to listen to while being on DromEd... ;)

Hmm.. I downloaded it and it showed up as an MP3 file for me. When I played it with Realplayer, only one tune played in total- the intro to Thief 1.
I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong :p
Kurgan on 9/5/2006 at 06:30
Dunno why RealPlayer would have a problem with it. AlbumWrap is simply a way of bundling all the MP3s together, like in a big zip file, but with an MP3 extension, so it can be played as a single "album" MP3 file. The individual tracks are stored inside, and can be extracted, if desired, with a free tool (AlbumWrap Extractor or Alba Extractor --one or two others out there, too). Haven't run into a program yet that had any problems with it, although I've heard some MACs can't play 'em (fortunately there's a MAC extractor, too, on the AlbumWrap site, so that's not a problem). Maybe try another player (I use Winamp), or just extract the tracks to a folder and make a playlist. See my original post for links, or just Google the names.

WMP whinged that the file format didn't match the extension, then wouldn't play it saying it didn't have the needed codec. However, (
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) VLC seems like it'll play it (neighbours are having a garden party, so I'll have to listen to it later to be sure it all plays).
