hi,
for those who got problems with Thief 1/2 cutscenes under Vista and the solutions provided in the FAQ:
If you can't get the videos to run: Here is an alternate source for indeocodecs, that can be installed on Vista without errors:
(
http://download.freenet.de/video/codecs/download-Intel-Indeo-Videos-Codecs-5.1-englisch--4369.xhtml)
(This is from the HP of a german broadband provider - so it's a pretty trustworthy source, and that's not unimportant when installing codecs!)
2. Run Thief as ADMINISTRATOR (right-click on icon, then select run as admin...), if you want to view the cutscenes ingame, just as they were intended. And of course set the CPU affinity, to do that for an
admin-process, you have to use the "Show processes for all users" (I don't know how it's exactly called in english) button at the bottom left of the task manager, and then select the Thief-process and right click on it...affinity...select one CPU.

Note: Thief in admin-mode puts the savegames, keybindings, userconfigs somewhere else than Thief running in normal-mode. Use the search function to find and copy them into the correct place if needed. Just be sure to look for hidden files in your windows-search.

have fun!
