This patch is
mainly designed to support Thief 2, and when used with the standard v1.18 exe some additional features are available.
* Fixes any issues with the driver incorrectly reporting free vram
* Adds a 32 bit texture loader, to allow the use of 32 bit textures instead of the usual 8 bit paletted images
*
Adds the option to use fullscreen resolutions that are normally unsupported by Thief, such as 1280x960:nono:
Edit: Actually, one of the beta versions a few pages back supported widescreen resolutions in TDP and SS2, although not TG. 1.3.10 certainly doesn't though.

eek, 30 pages to look through for a solution to my problem... nah, I'll just ask anyway :p
I've tried the pre-patched Thief2 exe posted by DarkDragon, and the colors go obscenely neon - like a (
http://civfanatics.net/uploads5/LisaFrank2.jpg) Lisa Frank illustration. anyone else remember those from the early-mid 90s?
THIEF DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!
anyway, it still crashes within about a minute... anyone have any ideas?
I'm running XP, intel dual core @ 2.4ghz, 1gb ram, ATI radeon hd 2400 pro

If I remember rightly that's down to the driver. But if you running the latest version of DDfix you should not be getting that problem. When you say "Patched" do you mean via ddfix...?

Thank you so much for this fix. I can now play Thief 2 on my new Vista 64 bit install with proper textures and in 1920 x 1200. It's a pleasure to look at once again. Fantastic job :thumb:

Did you go into options when you first start the game after you installed the fix? I forgot to go to video options and set the new resolution there before playing, and I got the whole neon colors and crash as well. After I restarted the game and set the video options it's working smoothly.

Bikerdude: I used the exe in the zip file posted (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1729299#post1729299) here
I tried the resolution fix just suggested by Zapman, and that seemed to do it! I've made a copy of the Thief2 folder so that if it bugs out again after adding model/texture mods I can always go back.
thanks everyone!

continue anyway? Yes - No
yes => insert correct CD /DVD (which is inserted)
no = abort
That's just now a common error appearing when German users, mostly on DC-Systems, NVIDIA 7800 or higher) try the current prepatched thief1.exe at the moment. Any solutions for that? I didn't find any untill now... :erg:

The item query function (ctrl + LMB) in system shock is still broken, as the rotating models of the inventory items selected do not appear in the description window.

Hmm, though I could not get SS2 to work with 1440x900 resolution, it does work with 1024x768 resolution, with no waiting in between menu changes :joke: Not quite what I wanted, but it works wonderfully now. :thumb:
Now to try reinstalling Taff Gold
