Thief 1/2 & SShock 2: DDFix and Enhanced Resolution Patch - discussion - by bikerdude

the same resolution has to be set up in ddfix.ini and cam.cfg
also, try 174.74 it works for me. The latest driver is not always the best.

Yup, entered the same resolutions into both inis. Oh well, running as it is it's very very good, flawless. I'm forcing AA/AF via the nVidia control panel, so there's no real room for improvement, unless widescreen can be worked out somehow.

Before you continue along that path I should mention (and I do apologize if I've missed a discussion on this) the latest one I installed broke the feature in ss2 where you ctrl click on inventory items to get useful descriptions of them. The descriptions still show but the rotating model of the item in question is totally gone.

I've briefly scanned through this large thread but may have missed the answer to my question, so apologies if I'm bringing something up that has already been covered. Is there some way to bend this fix to work for Thief 1 or are there plans for support in later versions? I've tried experimenting with the settings in the config files but no joy yet.
Thanks to Timeslip for this fix regardless - I thought I was out of luck with my favourite games since getting a 8800GTS.

Yes, it works flawlessly with Thief 1 and System Shock 2. There are links to ddfixed TG and SS2 files a few pages back.

If you mean links to the pre-cracked Thief 133 exes, I end up getting the same crash as without ddfix on those.
I'm running on a 8800GTS 320MB card in windows XP.

Before you continue along that path....
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll make sure to test it when the occasion arises.

Yeah, in fact you missed the bit about Timeslip saying that he added thief.exe to the gui version. Anyway, I good way to see changes in each version without having to look through this thread, is by going to
(
http://timeslip.chorrol.com) - Then on the left hand navigation, look for ddfix and then the changelog link.;)

Looks like I'm up the creek then - the game is still refusing to run.
