thanks - forgot about it completely (don't use CCC anyway - but ATT has it as well). Still would be nice to have it in the .ini and set it permanently there w/o affecting other games/creating profiles etc.
Will test it later how/if it actually works in this case.
meh, overriding RR for D3D in ATT (Ati Tray Tools) didn't help (tried 'same as desktop' and 85Hz explicitly) - still got 75Hz if I launch the same from lower res on desktop than target game res. If both res are the same, I get 85Hz in game as expected - really weird .

I successfully managed to run thief in 1680x1050. The image is stretched (not only fov - models are "fatter"), but what Timeslip hase achieved is mighty impressive nonetheless.
How did you manage to set it, as I tried and got the usual low res with visual corruption..?

It's elementary, my dear Watson ;)
I set 1680x1050 in both ddfix.ini and cam.cfg
I am using the latest ddfix, got 8800GT running on 169.21 whql

it didnt occure to me to edit the cam.cfg aswell..
Timeslip, this may have bneen asked before, but is it possible or will it be possible to add AA options at some point..? as forcing AA in the nvidia control panel has no effect.

I only did it because I read it in the thread. It was mentioned a couple times.
From what I noticed, when you use DDFIX GUI to set the res, then i think ddfix automatically modifies cam.cfg.
Unfortunately I am unable to choose widescreen resolutons from the GUI, so when doing it manually I have to remember to edit both files.
It coudl be a good idea to add a comment in ini file "remember to set the same resolution in cam cfg".
Or ddfix exe could automatically check for discrepancy between ini and cfg and fix it (I got carried away ;) )

For normal thieving this is so great that I cannot thank you enough; both good fog and beautiful skies once again. Being able to look at readables without changing resolution is also great and the ability to use 32bit textures sounds interesting. I have said it before, but thank you so much for your hard work with this patch!
I do have one question/request, though. I seem to be the only one who would want this, but I miss the possibility to run Thief in windowed mode. I remember that in version 1.0 (I think) one could set the parameter Fullscreen to zero if one wanted windowed mode.
The reason why I would want this is that I find it very practical when using DromEd to be able to quickly switch back and forth between game mode and edit mode and running in windowed mode helps a lot, because the screen doesn't have to change the resolution back and forth. The screen resolution also gets a bit messed up after returning to edit mode.
Is it still possible to run Thief (especially from within DromEd) in windowed mode while using the DDFix? If not, why was the possibility removed?

Why do you have your desktop and DromEd game mode using different resolutions?
Set them both to use the same, and you'll have much less trouble going into game mode.
... unless you have widescreen, of course...

Two problems, firstly that antialiased surfaces aren't lockable, so you'd have to set UseSysMemOverlay to 0 which causes the transparent menus on SS2, and more seriously the DX6 version of antialiasing is broken on nvidia cards. (You can turn it on, but it makes no difference whatsoever to the picture.)
I can turn AA on in the control panel though, and it works without any problems. (Using 16x override AA, 16X override AF. Using enhance instead of override doesn't work, because thief doesn't use any AA at all.)

Ok, so you can turn AA on but it has no effect on DDfix'd Thief/SS, am I understanding you right..?
If and when you get widescreen working correctly I will be happy with just that and no AA, as at the res the jaggies are so small as to be unoticable. As it is having 1440*1050 is a fabulous, I only notice jaggies on distance light sources etc.
thanks again for your continued work on this, let me know if you need any particular make/model of gfx card to help with any bugs etc....
