Hiatus, try using (
http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/) RefreshForce. From my experience, it would work with games that normally didn't support manual refresh rates.

Are you sure it's the newest version? I uploaded a new one about an hour ago that should have fixed the custom resolution problem.
The version I downloaded yesterday was 1.3.9, so I`ll download and test 1.3.9b this evening.

No. It works, but the FOV seems to be incorrect. if I find the code that calculates the projection matrix. (*misses DX9, where I could just intercept the D3DXMatrixProjectionFovLH call.*)
This is the holy grail of wish lists, if you can get T2 working in widescreen with the correct FOV that would be absolutely superb...!!! Ive been playing T2@1280*1024 on my 20" for ages now..

Just discovered this thread. Would be huge to have Thief G/2 run in widescreen on Vista, without all the new nVidia problems. Will have to experiment, thanks!
By the way, can the info from here ((
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116476)) be implemented so we can have real widescreen support?

hmm... so it's probably some stupid thing ATI driver does.
Hi there
both the nVidia and Ati driver have a force refresh option tab that you use to fix the problem you have

Hello Timeslip, Just wanted to pass on my thanks for this patch. Great work!
I've been running it on Windows Vista SP1 since early March with an ATI Radeon 3870 and it works great (I don't have a widescreen monitor so I haven't tested that, but 12x10 is great).:thumb:

thanks - forgot about it completely (don't use CCC anyway - but ATT has it as well). Still would be nice to have it in the .ini and set it permanently there w/o affecting other games/creating profiles etc.
Will test it later how/if it actually works in this case.
EvaUnit02: thanks for link to RF.

which ver of ddfix do you use? Someone here got a performance problem with HD3xxx and vanilla T2 and ddfix 1.2 or higher - ddfix 1.0/1.1 is fine (for example only a few fps at the start of 3rd OM, Framed). Could you check for this issue on your system (whether you got this problem or not) and report back here? TIA! (But I don't remember if that person got xp or vista :(. Which Catalyst version are you running btw?)

Don't worry too much over this one, but running this on Wine in Linux, the menu screens don't redraw unless you click the mouse, and they're scaled coarsely (looks like no filtering, just nearest neighbor scaling). Actually in-game it works great.
The original version worked fine - I wasn't paying attention to all the progress that's been made, so I just jumped from the first DDFIX to the latest. Great work, btw.
Fog also doesn't work, but that's probably due to a Wine bug that's actively being worked on (
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10570) here.

I should clarify this some, I'm running Thief Gold and System Shock 2, but not Thief TMA. ThiefG and SS2 have worked very well for me since version v1.18 (when I really started testing it).
Thief TMA I have, but have not installed since I got my new computer last summer. Still, all the Dark engine problems have been fixed in the games I have installed and they've been running great.
I did have a weird performance problem (studering effect) in System Shock 2 running ddfix (I'm running v1.3.9), but it seems to be related to some older saved games that were there before I installed ddfix (I haven't tested throughly so I'm not positive about that, but a saved game after ddfix had no issues).
My configuration is:
- WinVista SP1
- ATI 3870 with v8.3 drv
- Duel Core Intel processor
- Sound Blaster X-Fi
- ThiefG & SS2 (v2.3) with ddfix (v1.3.9 on both).
Can't think of anything else in my config that would effect much.
Does this help?

I can confirm that 1.3.9b does indeed enable a genuine 1440*1050 via the GUI, everything is much sharper as it should be with a higher resolution etc.
