Great. Since that works, 1.2.6 proper is out. The GUI should recognise Shock2.exe now, and the source code is included with the non-GUI version for whoever it was who wanted it.

Timeslip, I know you know that, but I must once again say that you are doing a fantastic job for the TTLG community. May you live long and prosper! :)

Excellent work, Timeslip!
Not only does that fix the inventory in SS2, it also fixes in the ingame console (shift+;) in all games.
Any reason not to make those two values defaults in ddfix.ini?

It's probably slower, especially at high resolutions. I'll leave it a bit to make sure that no-one is getting any speed problems before making it the default.

Yeah, no prob, Sneaksie.
Also my apologies to Biker, for the rude posts. He was right about vanilla T1:TDP/TG working fine on the newer cards with v169.44.
No probs young man :D

Timesleip must to be a very modest man, either that or he dosent take compliments very well :D

BTW. Could someone possibly sum up what to do to use DDFix in SS2, or perhaps created a different thread or added info about DDFix to "running SS2 on XP thread".
I have already amended the thread title ages ago to include SS2.

many thanks for ongoing work on your patch for Dark Engine games, another quality update and for including source code. :)
FYI: TDP/TG exe's are both called thief.exe in case you would like to add support for patching them via GUI (as ddfix works fine with them as well, improving visual quality considerably - though some reported crash on exit bug with ddfix applied to TDP/TG).

Fantastic! Thank you so much Timeslip! Setting the sysmemoverlay to 2 fixed the corrupting text bug for thief 1 and thief 2.:thumb: Vasmorak, rejoice!:cheeky: Oops, I just remembered you updated drivers and it got rid of it. Oh well, if there is any taffers out there that haven't updated and have this problem, download 1.2.6 =)

I think that's pretty much everything fixed then, with the exception of the crash on exit thing.
Now for a slightly different question. What limits does thief 2 have on texture depth and resolution? What happens if you try replacing a texture with a 24 bit pcx or something that's 1024x1024 in size?

@Timeslip:
what about unlocking 1280x960 res in DE games (sth I asked about in earlier post).Could you look into this - would it be possible to incorporate it in your patch? I'm still on 19'' CRT so I miss this particular res (engine supports 1024x768 and then 1280x1024 - nothing in between). (1152x864 would be nice to have as well, for that matter :)). Both are standard 4:3 so I wonder why the engine doesn't allow them :(..

I think max res size is 256x256. No idea about tex color depth. NV mentioned that T1/T2 use 8-bit textures for world texturing. I'm sure NV will be able to answer your Q in detail so wait for him :).
