I'll try Tafferpatcher and see if it works

Hello everyone, please help me, I have problems with ddfix.
Since I installed the ATI 4850 graphics card, the ddfix I do not work anymore, just start Thief2, the game crashes and crashes to the desktop to me.
Ddfix addition to the last, I've tried others but with the same result.
Prior to ATI, I played thief with a GeForce 9400GT 1GB and had never had problems like this, why now I can not play with the ATI graphics card?
My operating system is this:
Windows XP H.E. 2.71 GHz AMD Sempron SP3 3 GB RAM
Motherboard MSI MS-7309
ATI Radeon 4850 512 ram

you will have to use the catalyst 9.4 driver, newer ones do not work with ddfix (edit: when running winxp. win7 has no issues, obviously).

Just out of curiousity, is that advice specific to 4xxx-series cards? I had no issues running 11.x drivers on my 5800-series card with DDFix.

No, it's specific to Windows XP.

Damn, what a great news! I must return to drivers so old to play Thief2? Might as well, which stayed with the GeForce 9400GT! thunder and lightning! #@*ç°# :wot:

You could always upgrade to Windows Vista/7/8 Developer Preview.

I switched to Windows 7, I installed Thief 2 and ddfix and now everything is in place with regard to the original game, you see a wonder, but the Darkloader .... I load the FM, but brings me back to the original game, why?

Well, I wasn't sure where else to put this, so I'll ask here. I've begun the daunting process of installing Thief 1 and 2 on my new system. I'm certain this is what I need to do to install them:
Quote:
How do I install Thief on Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista?
Go to Start, then Run, then type d:\setup.exe -lgntforce, where d:\ is your CDrom/DVDrom drive. (note: that's -lgntforce, lowercase "L". If you're unsure, copy and paste it from here.) This problem arises because Win2K, WinXP and Vista are based on the NT kernel, which had DirectX support which was flaky at best. Thief needs DirectX to run, so, when the installer sees the NT kernel, it assumes that the game isn't going to be able to run and quits the installation. The -lgntforce switch tells the installer to ignore the NT kernel and install anyway.
The only problem is, there is no "run" function in my start window. (I'm using Windows 7) How do I find the "run" function? There must be some alternate way to find it! (and it'll probably end up being stupidly easy -__-)
