Thief 1/2 & SShock 2: DDFix and Enhanced Resolution Patch - discussion - by bikerdude

Hi guys,
i've a problem with ddfix. :(
Basically, I have a laptop with a widescreen monitor that has a resolution of 1280x800. I put the ddfix with the widescreen patch.
The problem happens to me with both Thief 1 and Thief 2.
Take for example thief 1.
I did 4 tests:
- If I use only the ddfix and try to put 1280x800 in the file and the file ddfix.ini cam.cfg the colors are all stoned.
-If I try to put only the ddfix with a resolution of 1024x768 the game works well with improved graphics. No problem.
-If I try to put the ddfix with the widescreen patch (at 1280x800), the game works fine but i see the menus and videos whith black bars on the left and right. Like this:

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg94/scaled.php?server=94&filename=thief2011110315412743.png&res=medium-If I try to use only the widescreen patch (at 1280x800), the game works fine without the black bars. But in this way I have to give up all the features of ddfix.
What I would like to do is put the ddfix with the widescreen patch, but without the black bars. So i can play at maximum detail and the native resolution of my monitor. :D
-------------
Another problem about the ddfix:
I noticed that with the ddfix enabled, both in Thief 1 Thief 2 ALL the written are more grainy.------------
Sorry if maybe you have already said these things, but I can not see me 95 pages of topic.:D
EDIT: I've now read that the black bars are normal.what a pity :/
For the second problem?

Hey guys!
I have a DDfix version that I installed in october 2010. I didn't update since then.
I updated to newest version ddfix now. The game starts, but when I go ingame, I see nothing but my whole screen is WHITE. Also, I can hear the sounds, AI, ambient, etc. I left the ini file with the default settings.
What could be wrong?
I also use the widescreen patch (1680x1050). It works properly for at least a year now. I thought that's the problem since with the latest ddfix we don't need widescreen patch, so I removed it, but I still get a white screen.

What process did you go through to remove the widescreen patch?

I opened Darkwidescreen.bat and removed it with that. The uninstall was done correctly.

You could try setting OverlayColourKey=0.

I put the line in ddfix.ini and I think it works now. What does OverlayColourKey=0 stand for?

Can ddfix do some line-straightening? I mean the stair-like lines in graphics ingame. My ATI Radeon 9250 can do that, but no matter what I set, nothing changes.

if you mean FSAA, you will have to force it from the ati control panel.

It just says that the color key (transparency color) for the overlay (texts, carrying graphic, etc.) is black.

The term you're looking for is 'anti-aliasing'. Regular multisample anti-aliasing as offered by your ATi card
should work, provided you've enabled it.
