@Cyrlous: No, that's part of windows. Sorry, I assumed you knew what I was talking about.

You can also right click the exe for the game and go to Properties> then Compatibility tab. (Which is quicker and easier.)
I think jermi was referring to the windows error pop-up, but since you didn't mention that I'm assuming you didn't get one.

No, I set my compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Run as Administrator, so that shouldn't be the issue. As for the error message, it's just some generic message about how the program had a problem and had to shut down and windows was looking for a solution, which by the way it never found.
jermi on 23/3/2011 at 15:14
If you open the additional information in that message box, you should find the module and offset of the crash.
In Win7, ddfix doesn't need any compatibility mode.

Yeah, the weird thing is there are no options in regards to the error message. The only option is to cancel and then when it says it will continue searching for a solution, the only option is Close Program. There are no details to view or anything like that.

Compatibility doesn't necessarily fix the issue, and it might even be that you need to try one other than Windows XP Service Pack 3. (I'd actually suggerst Pack 2.) What I was talking about was the extra options below setting that, like disabling desktop composition, which is windows vista/7's Aero stuff, I believe. Doesn't hurt to try it, it's a simple check or uncheck.

I got widescreen monitor (30õ47 sm) and also got the problem with T1. I use latest DDFix 1.5.11, T1 runs in 1280 1024, the view is stretched, but WideScreen patch doesn't help, after patching T1 doesn't run at all. T2 runs without WideScreen in 1680 1050 and looks quite well just as it should. But in DromEd's game mode everything looks terrible, it says that this resolution can be set. Why? Doesn't WideScreen work for DromEd? What am I doing wrong?

You should be posting in the other ddfix thread...
Also, the newest ddfix includes a widescreen patch , so there's no need for "dark widescreen" anymore. That's probably why you're having issues, but I'm not sure.
From the other ddfix thread, it says in red letters that ddfix has widescreen support but that dromed does not.

Haven't been around for a while. Anyways, I'm back on my slightly older system for a bit (The dual-core one with intel graphics), and w/ the latest version of DDFIX, I'm getting a strange startup with this strobe effect, and by clicking the screen to see if windows just hasn't gotten the game in focus, it's a black screen. I can move the mouse and such around, and hear all sounds, but it's black. Haven't been able to see if it can go in-game, even.
(Ah, I see we decided to stick to the other DDFIX thread, eh? Well, this is a bit involved with compatibility, so I suppose it stays...)
