Hi everyone, I have just downloaded and applied the fix.
Strange things happened though. I had the no CD fix, so I reverted to the original Thief. exe, darkinst.cfg and install.cfg, but the patch didn't apply. It keep saying that I didn't have the original, or that the patch could not apply to my version....bla bla bla.
Since I only have XP SP1, I thought that that was the reason and I reverted all again to the no CD fix.
I wanted to try again though, and this time it worked! (with the no CD) I went in game and I finally saw the original beautiful sky with stars AGAIN! :D
There is one problem though, the fix doesn't seem to work in Dromed. I have hoped to see the sky settings for my new mission, but unfortunately I keep on seeing the same old ugly sky and I can't understand if it's good or not. :(
Has anyone a solution for this problem?
Excuse me if it has already been asked I just didn't feel lile read all these pages.....
Ooops, forgot to post my system: WindowsXP SP1, Nvidia 6800GT

You need to manually apply the fix to DromEd.exe, but it makes DromEd totally unusable after going into game mode.
Give me a minute and I'll email you the file.

I already posted it in a different place, but this seems like the best place to report unexpected behaviour of DDFix (which is a great creation BTW and I love it :) ).
For the record I have 7300GT (temporarilly downgraded from 8800GT to play SS2 and Thief series).
1) I cannot set 1280x960 or 1152x864 - when I do the DDFix.exe crashec upon loading the mission. 1280x1024 and 1024x768 works fine though.
2) When DDFIx is installled custscenes are choppy - fraps shows 5fps. When fix is off they play normally.

DDFix isn't going to magically make Thief support widescreen resolutions.

If you press your Scroll Lock key at the beginning of the cutscenes they should play normally.

It helped. Thanks a million! I thought it was fraps related but did not know how to fix it. I wonder what do I tell fraps to do (or not to) by pressing Scroll Lock.

Simplex, the pixelation issue has been discussed before. This is due to DDFix (can't quite understand or remember what ddfix does exactly, something with rescaling the textures or something), and as I understand it, there is nothing you can do about it but remove the patch if it bothers you so much. DDfix itself has problems you know, such as the texture thing, and no fog. Too bad Timeslip wouldn't work on this further.:cheeky: But I think he gave up on that stuff.

Fraps has nothing to do with the laggyness of the movies. With DDFix enabled this happens - I'm not sure why it happens, but yes, pressing the scroll lock key on your keyboard when watching the movies should fix it. The other way mentioned, which is less effective and quite annoying, is to move your mouse constantly when watching the video to speed it up. I'm not sure I understood your question statement(:p:cheeky: ), but fraps is not the culprit, and unless you havee a key in fraps bound to scroll lock, it won't affect fraps when you press it.

I am aware of that, but 1152x864 and 1280x960 are a standard 4:3 resolutions, not widescreen.
Thief
ONLY supports the following resolutions:-
640*480
800*600
1024*768
1280*1024
1600*1200
thats it period.
