So I got Thief 1 and when I play it, it starts out fine, the clips play and everything, but when I go to options or start a game the screen goes black and an error pops out saying Thief: The Dark Project has encountered a problem and needs to be close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I've tried shutting one of the CPUs, or making my ATI go into 16pp, and NOTHING, please please help, nothing on the Thief's faqs on this place helped me at all, please help, I really want to play this game since I heard it is SO good. Thanks in advance

Better to run the imagecfg fix than shutting down CPU. Instructions here
(
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/guides/hyperthreading/)
imagecfg -u thief.exe
imagecfg -a 0x1 thief.exe
pause
Save As "processor.bat", but
do not include the quotes.

I have NO idea, don't even know what it is

well I just found out what it is, the DDfix I mean, and I tried putting it up how the faq on the site told me to, and it was correct, but I still get the same problem

Someone told me to download (
http://www.filefront.com/16384349/ddfix-1.4.5-complete.zip) ddfix and it worked like a charm!! I opened the zip file from my desktop, extracted the files to my Theif folder, opened the .exe file (it's a GUI BTW), when the box comes up click the "patch" button, and after that it worked great!
