Actually, I'm a lady, though I know there is no way to tell from the name. :)
I have played the majority of the FMs that are available, but I'm afraid I will never be making any missions myself. I'm not very creative and I lack anything but the most basic computer skills. I'll content myself with playing all the magnificent missions that everyone else produces for us. I make my contribution to the Thief community, in my own small way, by helping out folks here at the forum whenever I get a chance and betatesting missions as often as possible, though I don't know how good I really am at that end of things. I think I need a report card from the mission designers so I know if I'm wasting their time or not! :D

You're a girl? Me too! Are there many girls who plays Thief out there?
I think however that you'd have some creative ideas, I mean, everybody has some kind of creative idea. And If not, how about using history as a topic? For example, picking a topic right off the top of my head, Queen Elizabeth I of England? During that time a lot of people didn't want her to become a queen, so what if Garret was to be hired to kill Elizabeth? Or maybe steal the tiara and scepter so the crowing would have to be put on hold? Probably a silly idea, I don't know, but the point is, if you get one idea, more come popping into your head. :P

I think there are quite a few females out there playing Thief, it's just difficult to tell sometimes because of the user names. We have a fair number show up here and a couple have even made missions, though that's mostly been male territory. I also hang out at the Eidos forum and there are quite a few lady taffers there, as well. There was a thread one time that asked who were women and a lot signed in, but since then, a large number of those have moved on but new ones have shown up, like you! :)
It sounds like you have some ideas. Why don't you try making a mission? :)

I'd never be able to make a mission. I might have ideas, but when it comes to the graphic drawing, and room design, dungeon design, light settings, guard placing... ect..ect.. I'd suck, so I probably have to work with someone, for example if I provided some ideas and a designer would create it.
You seem to be here all the time Nightwalker, exactly how much time do you spend infront of the computer?
Nightwalker on 5/2/2002 at 23:44
Waaaaay too much! :D My kids are grown up and I don't have a job, so I have lots of time. I just pop in and check the forums every once in awhile in between doing stuff around the house or when I take a break from a mission I'm playing.

I spend way too much time online too. But after tomorrow I won't be online that often anymore, I'm going to study at the IT-Academy, so it'll take up much of my day time. Yikes! :)

What are you going to be studying? I hope we'll still see you around from time to time. :)

Awwww, Nightwalker just doesn't want to embarass us novices by building an FM that would dishearten the majority of us builders into giving it up for good. ;)
Actually, I wish she would (could) build one; it would be amazing. :thumb:

Thank you, Hit Deity, but I'll leave the creation up to talented people like you! I've loved your two and I'll look forward to seeing what you do next! :)

I'm gonna be studying as a CISCO-Candidat, its Networking and routers and stuff, in case you didn't know.
I totally agree with hit, a person who has played and finished most missions made should know what most people want to see, I think you should go for it!!
