I recently got Thief : The complete collection, but I have experienced problems with thief 1 and thief 2, the problem is that I can't see the menu screen. I can still hear the sound of the icons being highlighted, but I can't see the curser being moved. This makes the game impossible to play. On Thief 1 I can see the menu but it is frozen, although I can hear the mouse curser moving over the icons, but the screen doesn't change. On Thief 2 there is only a black screen, but I can still move the mouse. When I find the start button with no vision, the game starts fine, but I still can't access the menu in-game. If anyone can help me on this topic, I would really appreciate it.
Im using windows 7, if this makes a difference. Thief 3 works fine with no problems

I suppose you're using DDfix. I've had this problem too and it's related to a certain parameter in ddfix.ini, though I'm not sure which one. Something with pre-rendered frames or something. You can find more information about this on the ddfix discussion thread.

nVidians should first make sure that "frames to render ahead" in the driver settings is set to zero. If that doesn't help, then adjust MenuUpdateDelay.

I'm having the black screen problem in Windows 7, and changing this has done nothing. I have TafferPatcher installed (rather, I installed the game with TafferPatcher). It's an HP laptop.
On my home machine, XP SP 3, NVidia 7300 graphics card. Can see menu, mouse cursor does not move.

I should add that laptop with Windows 7 is 64 bit.
