I don't like the Garrett character art (so far), but other than that these are intriguing. Yes, there are similarities to Dishonoured, but then, I'd say that the overall aesthetic of Thief 2 is as close to that of Dishonoured as it is to the first Thief - there's a clear difference already within the series, and within the two titles that most people like best, changing from something more medieval/renaissance to something more akin to early Victorian in many ways.

Even though, the screens indeed look very similar to Dishonoured, I hope Thief4 will be nothing like it, couldn't finish Dishonoured because of boredom it oozed. I hope missions/maps/enemies will be much more diversified from mission to mission and not copy/paste.

I appreciate that they strive for more "verisimilitude" (I had to check the dictionary for that word) and even had a blacksmith re-build that foldable compound bow, but on the other hand... the first thing that will happen when he shoots is that the bow string will rip off half of the gadgetry on his chest. Every archery knows that even small shirt buttons can cause trouble.
I wonder if this bow was the idea of someone influenced by AC. If he cannot have a retractable kewl dagger blade, let's make him a...well..something retractable. I don't even mean that as sarcastic as it sounds, the parallel just struck me.

ThiefOne of the first things I thought when I first fired up Dishonored was how it looked like a steampunk heavy, alternate future Thief. The art style and everything was very much inspired by the Thief series. It's look, style, gameplay, everything, even it's dev team. It can all be traced back to Thief.
Now we're all talking about how much Thief 4 looks like Dishonored. And I think there's something kinda hilarious about that.

**** me, that 'Focus' mechanic sounds like the worst thing they could possibly inflict on the Thief franchise.
And I hear they go around to your house and shoot your mother if you don't use it.

Damn, Subjeff. You're on a rage spree down here, aren't you?

I agree that the enviroment of Thief and Dishonored would look the same in a certain way, but what about the character design? The models look way to generetic, way to Dishonored for me, where are the Hammerites for example? Are they rebooted away? Why even make a reboot? Deadly Shadow laid the ground for any form of a continuation.

A bit worried, I am. I understand they won't attract players with "you have to stay hidden and observe", "only some of the things you find are valuable, you have to learn that yourself", "escaping and combat are hard, be patient and careful".
Still if they introduce a simplifying mechanism like this I tend to think even the level design will be hurt - i.e. "we designed N routes" kind of a feeling you get from some games/maps.
Edit: What's with all that green tint? And the table screenshot - do I see blue highlight on valuables?

Is this supposed to be an in-game screenshot ?
Anyone else who does not believe that this is an in-game screenshot ?
It looks more like concept art. Or maybe pre-rendered stuff.
