Who's JIMMY?? Look at the left side, a couple inches in, on the side of a building.

He must be important to have that big sign in the game's hub. :p
In the same image, note the 8 copies of the same building. I haven't looked for how many buildings are rubber-stamped throughout, yet. I'm hoping it's a rooftop object and the buildings beneath are different. I wonder how much of The City is built entirely out of smeshes? And being smeshes, I hope that doesn't mean we have no access to them!
In the hub, are we going to see the people reacting to how the players treat the AIs and how much they steal or not, unlike TDS, where the reactions were rare, and sometimes only in texts? Are we going to be able to hoard and buy too much like in TDS?

I just listened to the podcast, and there'll be a collection quest system in place :( Probably achievements/trophies too. Ugh.

If this game stays true to the long winded masterfully designed 1st person Missions of old, it cant be all that bad.

So far, his collecting of things in his hideout is the weirdest addition to his personality, even weirder than his decision to dress that way. I hope it's explained as loneliness and getting older, as that should be a major part of his current arc. We don't know how many years have passed since the ending of TDS. Will we know, as we go to frob an object, that he won't be taking it to a fence? Will we finally ever see one of his safehouses in-game, and not just in briefings? We may never hear him groan about his late rent again! :p

What's wrong with achievements?

In some games, why, they are all the rave to be sure. In a Thief title? Seriously? Cant you see that they are actually going for a purist approach after all? It can work! (

They way I see achievements, they're really no different than coming on here and bragging about how you ghosted a particularly difficult mission Lytha style (how is Lytha doing, anyway). Only now, instead of a post, you get a little ingame badge and a little surrogate pat on the back from the developers.

In the context of all that Thief hath stood for, I dont know whether to laugh or cry at this statement. Nevertheless, young acolyte, for Thief IV: Dark Project is almost upon us, and there are many preparations to attend to!

Think of it like this, it won't lessen the experience at all. In fact, it could enhance it, considering the developers have to take extra challenges and myriad ways to play the game into account while designing the missions.
And it gives a reason for the seething, teeming masses to play the game you all think it should be played. Silently, stealthily, and with as little bloodshed as possible.
