So I am at T-Minus 12 hours and counting until the movers get here and I have almost nothing packed. I had such hopes to have all this done already and I've managed to turn this into another one of my last-minute goatfucks. It's not like I even have an excuse- I've had my ticket to Seattle for almost three weeks, and since I was laid off long before I even started to think about moving three it's not like I can blame a busy work schedule for any of this.
Once everything gets picked up tomorrow I'll be a lot calmer. I've already subleased an apartment in the Queen Anne area with an option to lease or continue month-to-month once I've finished the term of the sublease. I fly out Tuesday morning at 8:26 Denver time, which means I've got to leave here by about 5:15 in the morning to get to the airport and leave enough time for any unforseen delays. :( I've updated my profiles on Monster and Careerbuilder and I've already gotten a few calls from recruiters even though my resume info still says Denver, so I'm hoping that once I actually get everything set up that I'll be able to find a job in a reasonable timeframe.
Now if you'll excuse me I must get back to panicking packing packing um panicking um packingpancking packingpanickingpacikingpanickingpaaaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Packing panic?

What not to do: Post on TTLG
What to do: Don't think, pack:cool:. I went through the motions a month ago moving across the country and had to force myself to just box everything the fuck up and not worry about what to keep and what to throw away. Worry about that when you arrive.
now go!:p

That point where you have to stop packing around the computer, unplug and finally pack it is the worst.
From then on it's a boring empty place with nowhere to sit down and little else but cleaning products and dust bunnies.

I'm moving there in about a month, I think the Woodinville area, but I'm not decided yet. I'm also going there this thursday for the first time ever, for work, actually it will be my first time to a big city other than Denver. Hopefully you don't have a bunch of shit. When I move, I'm gonna have to start packing like a week in advance. I have so much crap. What's the Queen Anne area like? Near the city center?

The streaming college radio station I'm listening to is playing some whimsical art/prog rock with tubas and clarinets and some sort of weird Danny Elfman/circus melody. Clearly I'm doomed because if the gods were on my side they would be playing some sort of high-energy heavy metal like Joe Satriani's Surfing with the Aliien. Now the singers are doing some sort of Latin/Middle Eastern rap with Arabic drums. The Gods have abandoned me.
I really can't explain where Queen Anne is because I have no idea how to relate it to wherever the canonical downtown is. It's about 2 miles north of Pike Place, I believe, which might serve as some sort of zero point for the city.
This Yerba Mate seems to have frazzled my cognition without energizing my body. If this doesn't get better I may resort to animal sacrifice to placate The Powers That Be. After all, laying Iphigenia on the altar gave Agamemnon the winds back.

T-Minus 8 hours and counting
pizza that tasted mediocre when it was hot does not taste better when it's cold.
how the fuck have I used up almost 55 yards of tape on less than 20 boxes?
god I hate staying up all night when I'm not playing computer games.

It'll get even worse when you're almost done, tired, and all that's left is the stuff that you've been ignoring because you don't know what the hell to do with it.

Don't forget to pack up your PC.

When I moved from Belgium back to the states, the movers packed a bag of garbage in the thing. But luckily it was like just paper and a couple soda cans. Would have been bad if there was a couple eggs, a bottle of milk, or something.
