There's something happening right now that you will like in the future - by io organic industrialism

There is something happening or being created this year in 2008 that you will end up discovering, and liking in the year 2010. Or 2015, or 2030. Or maybe all three?
Maybe it is a music group you've never heard of. Maybe it's a video game you've never gotten the chance to play. Maybe it's a movie being produced in paraguay right now. Maybe it's the date of the termination of a relationship of a person that you do not currently know, but will eventually be your life long partner.
Once you discover this thing, you will look back to 2008 and think, "I wish I had known about this sooner! What the hell was I doing at the time?"
Or maybe you will appreciate that there are still new things about the past to discover?

But it's pointless to retrospectively "what if"

I gotta disagree. By examining possible scenarios, you can better prepare yourself for the future.

By examining an infinite number of possible scenarios, you'll waste so much time you won't get anything done at all.

As someone with OCD, I can definitely confirm that.

Greetings, my friend.
We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives.
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future.

But if you're examining possible scenarios, you're not doing it retrospecitvely

Yeah, but the flip side is that there's also something brewing right now that's going to end up screwing you over someday, too. But I guess you'd have the same thought in the end.
BTW, in game theory one of the basic rules is to think of yourself in the future and then think "retrospectively" from that perspective "back" to the present to decide what's the best course of action ... because people will react to whatever decision you make now and change their own behavior in the future, thinking about what's coming. Then you can foresee
that and take pre-emptive action. Surprising how well this technique works sometimes.
