I'll check those out, thanks!

Valve released an app that installs onto the Quest 2 (and I'm sure the 3 as well) called Steam Link that allows you to wirelessly connect to your computer running Steam. It's free on the Quest store. I use it to play Half-Life: Alyx and I've been very very happy with it. So happy that I'll probably get all my VR games on Steam now. I do occasionally have a stutter here and there, but as you pointed out, not having any wires is fantastic.

We've had Virtual Desktop Streamer for many years now, which isn't limited to Steam and overall i'd say it's much better than Steam Link...
There's also META's own software to use it wirelessly, been there since Quest 1 i believe.

There is Meta's own software, but any time I don't need to install or run Meta/Facebook software on my computer is a win for me. And all my games are on Steam. To each their own, just wanted to point it out as an option.

I've heard that for many, Steam Link for VR runs better than Meta's Air Link. Myself, I've not been able to make it work, because for some reason the sound is always played on my computer and not on my headset. I've been using Virtual Desktop since before Steam Link, so I'm happy to stick with that one - but there are a handful of games that don't work at all with VD.

I'm currently playing more VR than non-VR games, and one of the things I'm playing is
Moss: Book II.
I've had Moss on my wishlist for ages, and I finally picked it up the other day. I find the presentation to be a little cloying (which is why I had held off), but it's also gorgeous and richly animated, and I was surprised at how fluid and responsive the controls were. I'm looking forward to playing more.

Oculus/Meta Quest 2 is great, Quest 3 is better for sure but I yet have to buy it. I also owned original Quest and Go before.
Team Beef made excellent Doom 1/2/3 and Quake VR ports for the headset (the ports are official now I believe), I mean totally standalone versions, you don't need a PC to play them. I dreamt about playing Doom 1/2 in VR some 30 years ago and now it's here. Now I'd love if someone made Thief 1/2 VR ports for Quest, it shouldn't be too hard I believe.
PS: Some of my favourites for Quest are:
Red Matter 1/2
Cosmodread
Arizona Sunshine 2
Resident Evil 4 VR
Into the Radius
The Walking Dead 1/2
Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice
Ancient Dungeon
Eye of the Temple

Back in VR after a brief hiatus.
I got pretty far in Vertigo 2. It reminds me a lot of Half Life 1, in a good way. Fun shooting, interesting levels and character designs (really kind of high-schooler back-of-the-notebook stuff; "What if there was an enemy where, like, it was a cube made of meat?" etc.). It takes virtually no advantage of PSVR2, though, with not-so-great framerates and lack of haptic feedback. I've come to really appreciate the haptics in a lot of VR games (more or less it routes certain audio cues into the controllers, so the vibrations feel like they sync more accurately with sounds and feel more nuanced). Vertigo is also a bit janky, but it hasn't affected my enjoyment much. Plus a friend of mine did one of the voices, which was a weird, pleasant surprise.
Also Madison VR, the so-called scientifically scariest game of all time. Well, I'm pleased to report that it is really fuckin' scary and that I'm on edge the entire time I'm in the headset. Well, almost the entire time. It's all spooky hallways, lights cutting out, stuff appearing behind you, and it does not let up, except for the bits where I can't figure out how to solve the number puzzle so I wander back and forth and yeah the statue is moving but whatever I need the combination to this safe! I don't mean to undersell it. It's fabulously creepy and tense. But the puzzles are too hard for me, and the frequent treks back and forth through areas I've already been to interact with items I've already interacted with dampens the terror somewhat, at least for a while. But then you figure it out and the tension ratchets back up and I'm back to walking around going, nope, nope, nope, nope, fuck, fuck, fuck. I'm enjoying it, if you can call that enjoyment.

Rise from your grave, or something. Thought I'd mention a few VR games coming out before the end of the year that actually look really good:
Batman: Arkham Shadow. Looks like a fun combo of stealth and action, and fairly high production quality. Unfortunately you need a Quest 3. October 22nd.

Metro Awakening. Already mentioned this (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143292&p=2511922&viewfull=1#post2511922) here, but this is newer trailer that's shows off some more gameplay. November 7th.

Behemoth. Don't know as much bout this one, but it looks for very combat centric obviously. Maybe a little bit of Blade & Sorcery mixed with Shadow of the Colossus. Nice visuals too. December 5th.

Alien Rogue Incursion. An official Aliens VR game? Please let this be good. December 19th.

been lurking for years here and certainly not new to thief, but i saw this thread and thought i'd add something interesting. it turns out that playing thief through apple's vision pro is my favorite way to experience the game. the colors and black levels are fantastic and there's no smeary dark colors or mura. i typically play in the evenings while laying down and with a big virtual monitor situated above me in a night environment. i think what makes this great is the combined immersion, isolation, and relaxation while still preserving visual fidelity. i also like that i can take the full experience with me when traveling.
i was into VR games with controllers and stuff years ago, however i gradually lost interest in that over time. but this has me playing these sorts of more immersive desktop games more than ever (and honestly just using a vr headset more generally). so i thought that was interesting. i'm sure it would be even better with a direct to pc connection rather than through moonlight/sunshine over wifi, and with a volumetric window rather than a 2d one. there are still many ways that the displays could improve as well
