You're tearing me apart, Thirith!!

Fujii is really cute, short but nice. That was a good introduction to VR for me, but that may seem a bit bland if you're already accustomed to the medium.
I'm interested in what you think of Vox Machinae, I've had my eyes on it for a while.

Very addicted to In Death Unchained at the moment. Really awesome feeling bow/arrow shooter, so satisfying...love those headshots! Difficulty is pretty high (at least for me), but the shooting is so much fun, you keep going back for more abuse. It definitely has a Dark Souls lite feel to it, and its kinda scary in some areas. I like too how the current developer is still working on it, there's actually some new DLC coming out this week for free.
Also have been playing a Mystlike game called Xing The Land Beyond. This is my kind of game, very laid back and chill, explore and solve puzzles, take in the sights, and no AI to fight. Overall the environments are very pretty, and it's got some cool game mechanics where you can change the day/night state, or alter the weather (rain/snow) to accomplish your goals. Good length too for a VR game, about 10 hours. This is a good primer for Myst VR which is due later this week.
Messed around too with The Solus Project and Hellblade, good games that seemed to get the VR part right even they were originally made for flat. Man, so many new toys to play with lately.

Well MOH:AA is shaping up to be somewhat of a disaster. I don't actually know what happened behind the scenes but it seems that they don't really "get" VR and ignored years of experience built up by indie devs. Also, what the heck is up with those system requirements? It's like they ran out of money before they could optimize the game.
Coming from such a renowned game dev studio, this is a really bad look for VR

I just finished Paper Beast, a thoroughly magical experience. I can't imagine it working nearly as well outside VR. So much of it is about being immersed in that world, having a sense of scale. While I found some of the puzzles a bit fiddly, just being there was awesome - and that ending? Beautiful. Though, yes, very artsy and not a little French, so YMMV.

I played through Red Matter over the weekend, I thought it was pretty solid. Not completely what I expected, I didn't realize it's essentially 100% a puzzle game. You might say...Myst in space? Naw, that would be lame. Anyway, some good puzzles (although it seems obvious they stole stuff from other games), and a pretty good story. I'm a sucker for creepy abandoned space ships/stations, etc, and this hit the mark there. You'll definitely get Prey vibes at the end.
My only beef with the game was the length, I finished it with two separate sessions on the same day, maybe 3 hours max. Glad I rented it instead of shelling out the cash, not much replay value here. Didn't look half bad on the PSVR too, I thought going back to it after playing on the Quest would be rough, but visuals felt good. I'm sure the PC version puts it to shame though.

Well, it's finally happened. I've found a VR game for which my playing area (1.5m x 2m) really seems too small: The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. I was doing the first mission and I wasn't quite fast enough, so the bells started ringing just as I was on my way back to the start. I ended up getting attacked by three zombies, and as I was pushing them away I ended up scuffing my knuckles against the wall a fair bit. Hey, I guess it does make the whole thing feel more real, if there's actual blood being drawn, eh? :p

Alien Isolation is free on the Epic Games store, today only.
Edit: some people are reporting issues with making the VR mod work with this version. I haven't tried, as I already own it in Steam.

I didn't pay close attention to the GitHub discussion of the Alien Isolation VR mod, but I gather that they're checking if the mod could be made to work with the Epic Games version with relatively little additional work, so it's possible there'll be an update soon.
I've also restarted playing The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners and since I now have a better grasp of the game (in particular the scavenging part), I was able to go in, finish the first mission and get out relatively easily. Since the timer didn't run out, I wasn't overrun by zombies, which in turn meant that I didn't panic and keep running into the walls of my actual room... :p
And finally: playing Star Wars Squadrons with a HOTAS in VR is pure bliss. And I'm saying this as someone who used to be into Star Wars but who's cooled on the franchise a fair bit. Sitting in one of those iconic spacecrafts, being able to look around, being immersed in those particular sights and sounds... Pretty damn good. And the mission design isn't bad either.

Anyone know how well the Occulus Quest 2 will work with Half Life Alyx? Does it need a PC to power it?
