The Room is a great match for VR, because already the non-VR games (especially on tablets) feel very tactile. You touch things, you push and prod, and that sort of thing translates very well to VR. The puzzles themselves get a bit repetitive and predictable after a while (across the series rather than within a single game), but The Room VR is the right length in order not to overstay its welcome. I'd kinda like to see the developers do that sort of thing across different kinds of environments, genres and atmospheres.

VR support coming to MS Flight Sim 2020 on Dec 20th, including Valve and Oculus brands.

Anyone tried out the (
https://www.viveport.com/infinity) Viveport Infinity service before? Seems cool, it's like Gamefly without the snail mail delivery method. And there's actually quite a few games on there that I'd like to check out.

They're not the same as real VR games, but Alien Isolation and Subnautica are both great in VR, even playing with a regular controller (or possibly kb & mouse, but I didn't try that).

I'd second that. While both are clunky in one way or another, they are among my favourite VR experiences yet - possibly with some tweaks, especially in the case of
Subnautica. It may sound like a tiny thing, but just the fact that you have to look up and down physically made me feel the terror of the deep more keenly and made those last-minute ascents (will I make it to the surface before I run out of oxygen?) more thrilling. It's such a basic physical movement, but perhaps it's exactly because it is so basic that it works in a way that I never has for me when playing on a screen.
Little late, but there's a fan mod for Subnautica that massively improves the VR experience- there are some very questionable UI decisions in the base game's VR implementation.
It still doesn't support motion controllers so you need a gamepad, and the game works best if you have standing room, so either set up a wireless controller or do what I did and goofily run a USB from a PS3 controller to the USB port on the front of the HMD.

The Room VR was great. A bit on the expensive side, but it's a good and very atmospheric experience.
I can't even imagine what it's like in 3D.

Yeah, I played with that one. It's not perfect, but it makes the game much more playable. Talking of which: although there's no official VR support for
Subnautica: Below Zero, someone's working on a VR mod for that one that apparently already works better than the official VR support of the first game.

I got my Valve Index on Saturday!
Setup took maybe 1 hour, tho I still haven't mounted my basestations properly, just have them sitting on shelves. Tracking's good, headset is very comfortable, resolution is about same as the Quest.
Impressions of some games I've played:
Abode - I've had this and its sequel sitting in my library since early this year so I guess it's ABODE TIME I played em! It's basically a room escape game. Pretty fun, good variety of puzzles, about 70min playtime.
Abode 2 - this one actually uses (or at least displays) full knuckles support, letting you move each finger individually, but is somehow more clunky to use than it's predecessor's simple designed-for-wands input. The game itself looks great with kinda a Bioshocky futuristic art deco aesthetic.
Beat Saber (via Revive) - ran like shit at first and I was dismayed to hear that the rumors about Revive's dodginess being confirmed, but then I read that you should turn down the renderscale from the default 1.8 to 1.0 and suddenly it ran great. For gameplay I didn't find the much more constrained knuckles as good for this as the looser Oculus controllers, but then I eased up the grip all the way and it felt a lot better.
Flotilla 2 - When I tried this 2 years ago I had a bug which made it not recognize my right Oculus touch controller, so I'm glad to finally be able to play it now. It's a simultaneous-turn-based spacecombat tactics game. Minimalist aesthetic, plays great, here's some gameplay:

So yeah I'm not exactly giving this top-of-the-line VR hardware a proper workout yet. I do wanna replay Alyx, but I'll wait till I get a new GFX card. Just ordered a Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 (turns out I do have enough space in my case). It should arrive early February.

If you like room escape games, you may want to check out The Room VR (cue obligatory Tommy Wiseau jokes). It's atmospheric, has pretty high production values, and the puzzles are pretty fun. If you know the non-VR The Room games, you know what expects you, but they're a great fit for the tactility and immersion (yeah, I went there) of VR.

I see its in this Viveport thingy. This thing didn't look too appealing when it initially launched, but now it's got a pile of games I'm interested in.
Paper Beast
Vacation Simulator
Stride
L.A. Noire
Dance Collider
Vox Machinae
Yupitergrad
Fujii
The Morrigan
Virtual Virtual Reality
I'm gonna have to get a month of this and play ALL THE GAMES.
Yes btw I did play The Room on iPad, yeah it's good.
