Back when I registered, I didn't have a "history" of nicknames, and knowing my poor memory I looked around for something to help me remember it. Above my desk I had a picture of an Edward Hopper painting, so I decided to use that. After registration I noticed my error with the lowercase h, which always bothered me a bit, but never enough to actually have it changed.

My real name is Nick, and "nicked" is colloquial slang (in England at least) for either stolen ("The painting got nicked") or arrested ("You're nicked!") so it's kind of a pun relating to thief gameplay!

Ok, Ill keep the name then:thumb: . Yes, I am a blackjack junkie, I always blackjack nearly everyone even if I don't think im going to go to that area again. Other names I thought of where sort of similar e.g the bludgeoner etc. (In case you wanted to know)

I've used the "SiO2" handle for many, many years. It stands for Silicon Dioxide - the stuff CPU's ("silicon chips") are made from. Well, they were when I originally used the name. :D
Heck, and it's nice and short too at just four characters.
BTW I know the "2" should be a superscript like this: SiO². Hold down Alt and type "2", "5", "3" on your numeric keypad. :cheeky:

Ive had a number of net names, but this one is the one Ive had the longest - simple really I have been a biker for nearly 20yrs and as I often got called the dude when I managed to fix something..... :cheeky:

In German, my native language, the verb "stibitzen" means "to snitch". I took the root and placed a -ki behind it. "Stibitzki" was the result, it is pronounced ˈʃtibɪtski or shtee-bits-kee. ;)

One of my flatmates used to have a cheap sampler/keyboard. We would record our full names, play them backwards and learn how to say them properly in reverse. Then we'd record our backwards names and then reverse them so that they sounded hilariously mispronounced.
My first name backwards is "Neb" and it kind of stuck.
