This name is what i chose the first time i registered for Mplayer game service, within my first few weeks of online gaming about 5-7 years ago to play Rouge Spear. Those were some of the best gaming sessions ever. Mainly because i played with a clan i got to know. Noisycricket is the name for the small gun used by Will Smith in MIB. I thought it was hiralious and creative for the writers to attach the concept of a loud, obnoxious cricket to a small gun.
Tintin on 18/8/2004 at 00:05
Ever since the age of eight I've been interested (or maybe obssessed is a better word) by the Belgian cartoon character of Tintin (1929-1976).
He is a boy reporter who travels the world, adventuring, catching the bad guys and solving mysteries.
Everyone who knows me knows I like Tintin, so I kind of stuck with it as a nickname!
I use it or variations of it on all the forums I visit.

Not why i chose it but ...cool......
4thhorseman on 20/8/2004 at 00:09
well, i'm a metallica fan...
on their 1st album, kill 'em all, there's a song - the four horsemen...
at the time, the lineup was: james hetfield, lars ulrich, kirk hammett and cliff burton...
they were the four horsemen...
cliff burton was killed in a bus crash...
i, quite arrogantly, have assumed his position...
even though i can't play bass...
hence my name...
4thhorseman...
i know it doesn't have a lot to do with thief...
but it still sounds good...

Arise, oh thread. Arise and walk among the living. (Is 5 years a record for necromancy?)
Some interesting things in here, and a lot of users since the last post. I'd be curious what some of the other user's names stand for. Like Nameless Voice, Lady Rowena, Zylonbane, Gloria Creep, Digital Nightfall, Nightwalker. Or initials like JTR7, or DrK, to name a few. I've always thought they had such interesting names. (and of course Pavlovscat, but she shared it in another thread once, so I know hers. It's interesting enough to bear repeating here).
Anyone care to tell us about their username?
Can't add much for myself, my name is my name :P Honest...

Lol, really? If so, you definitely live up to it. You find some of the most obscure and amazing things.
Herr_Garrett on 13/1/2009 at 15:26
Well, 'herr' means 'lord, master, mister' in German, and while I'm not German, and Hungarian be not a Germanic language, I used to study it, and it rhymes quite well with 'Garrett'.
Garrett? Hmm... I really don't know if I should tell this to strangers... It will shock a great many of you, and it's a deadly secret, but: I do declare that I be a Thief fan indeed! Sing it now and sing it loud, I'm a Thief-fan and I am proud! And thus my ex-classmate and best friend named me in such manner. I can also imitate Stephen Russel's voice quite well, by happenstance. :D
That is the strange, twisted, contorted, perverted, weird and spooky story behind my nickname.:p
Oh, and because my real name is unpronouncable to foreigners (all them filthy heathens with their gibberish, it's just unhygenic :cheeky: ). Tarcsay Tibor. Go ahead. Do try to pronounce it. It's up to you. :p
Petike, you don't count...:cheeky:
