This is fun!
To put it simply: this is (
http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=A134741~C) my name's inspiration. It seemed particularly suiting for Thief, as one will often come across (or make their own) dead bodies. Like theBlackman's, simple and powerful. Ok, not powerful :cheeky:.
And my nickname on IRC happens to be Decay_Child, which could be an evolution of 'deadman' (i.e., he turns into a zombie and is reborn as a 'child'), or maybe not.
Also, a certain LiveJournal user inspired me to dedicate my life here to him (who's name, in turn, was inspired by the same film linked above).
Hey, there's actually a county named after me :cheeky:. I must scan it and brag about my county!

Sola Busca - one of the oldest known tarot decks, named for the Italian family that owned them. Sola Busca means The Solitary Hunting Party.

Well, I like it because of the striking similarity to my real name: Mary Pal. I was sure glad to see I'm not the only taffer here with no imagination. Can you believe I spent 12 years working in marketing? Guess I used up all my good ideas at the office.
My IRC name used to be Meliflua, from the word mellifluous and also because it's a character in my favorite book "The Pyrates" by George MacDonald Fraser. If you haven't read it yet, you need to log off now and get yourself a copy!
BTW Blackman, I enjoyed the etymology lesson, especially since my maiden name was Douglis.
