I can't believe I"m doing this....
Okay.
"Ionia" is the title of one of the greatest albums I'd ever heard in my life. The story goes like this:
I was living in Denver in 1993. Me and my guitarist were big fans at the time of the Projekt record label, particularly an artist called Black Tape for A Blue Girl. Dandy. He comes over to pick me up one afternoon and is like "You've gotta hear this. Some doom band from... Arizona" (our home state). We figured this would be a grand laugh so we popped in the tape. The band name was Lycia.
We were completely blown away. I have never heard, nor have I heard since, a band quite as powerful. We were even more impressed that this was done by one guy on a 4 track recorder. Shimmering and huge and beautiful. Loved it. became one of my favorite bands ever, and very good friends of mine.
The theme of the album centers on the Arizona deserts, particularly dealing with the sense of isolation, empowerment, cleansing, you name it. For me, "Ionia" means "ruined", but in a good way. I identify with that.
the "23" part comes from Robert Anton Wilson's "Illuminati" series. Read it, you'll get it.

Since everyone's talking about books, have any of you read Sven Hassel? :sly:

Solabusca. Sola Busca. "The solitary hunting party", the family name of a Milanese family that presented images of cards from a 15th c. Tarot deck to the British Museum in 1934.
Current whereabouts of the family and the original cards: unknown.
So there you go.

Splunge= I like it, but maybe not, and I'm not being indecisive. Or something thereabouts. Made up, in fear of Irving Salzberg, Jr. (RIP Graham)
Splunge for me, too.
A crate of ale for any genius that can guess the story behind mine:ebil:

I got my name from the walking chest in Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels.
I love that piece of traveling accessory.:)

Random SN creation when signing up for something on the internet. I don't remember what it was it was so long ago but B745 is what came out, and I kinda adopted the SN even though I hate it.
You know this forum has made me rethink my life. Its time for a new SN. So long B745!!!

"My Wife Has Big Hooters"-congrats! You win 10 cheese shop points and a Norweigian Blue.... Oops, the shop just ran out of cheese and the parrot is kicking up the daisies, so here's a case of spam(not e-mail) and a dead Bishop. Maybe we should come up with a python playng style.
