A few years back, I read a great series of books by Brian Jacques. These books were the Redwall series, centering around the tales of Redwall Abbey and the creatures related to it. The creatures are all animals of different sorts, personified in what I believe is an excellent storytelling fashion. One book, entitled "Marlfox" dealt with the struggle against a mysterious clan of assassin foxes, called the marlfox. The Marlfox wore dark cloaks and were masters of stealth, brandishing axes I believe. I loved the series, my name is Karl, and the rest is history. :thumb:

"Nobeast living can hide from thee,
O, thou who treads invisibly,
Cross hill and vale through woods and rock.
Marlfox! Marlfox! Marlfox!"

Redwall!
That was a fine (and seemingly never-ending) series. Is Jacques still churning them out with the same quality?
I hope so, because the four or five I own are great :)

I finished Marlfox not too long ago and am working my way through Pearls of Lutra.
So far I've read...Redwall, Mossflower, Mattimeo, Mariel of Redwall, Salamandastron, The Outcast of Redwall, The Long Patrol, The Legend of Luke, Martin the Warrior, The Bellmaker, and of course, Marlfox.
I know a new one came out earlier this year, looks interesting. I think it's about another badger lord. But anyway as far as good new ones I think the newest one I've read was The Legend of Luke and that is in fact, good. :)

Glad to see other taffers who know of Redwall. As far as I know, Brian Jacques is still writing new Redwall books. He seems to release one book per year. It's torture waiting for them to come out and then make it to a library in my area. Great books.
Zantie, with this nice of a response, I might comb through Marlfox for a suitable quote, like the one you seemingly pulled from thin air. :thumb:

Hmm... Wasn't Karl Fox the blind martial artist in Princess Maker 2? ;)

Taggerung and I'm reading it as we (or rather, I) speak. Just as the reviewers say, it's not your orthodox 1) conflict, 2) departure (quest), 3) big battle (both at
Redwall and
Salamandastron) and 4) reuniting and merrymaking
Redwall story, although it obviously isn't drastically different from his previous attempts. I wonder when/if he'll end? Hm.. Wish he wrote some for a more adult audience. They're fine as they are, but sometimes I bore (maybe it's all the
J.R.R. Tolkien reading; that 'hardcore' fantasy can really turn one into a party pooper! :cheeky: ) of the overly comical songs or speech of some of the characters. And yet, I must remember, these are meant for children, so I shouldn't complain..

Haha, deadman, I read Taggerung not to long ago myself! Another excellent Redwall book, and to my knowledge, it is his latest book. Enjoy!!!

Esoteric Monty Python reference. 10 cheese shop points and a dead Norweigan Blue to the first taffer who can place it. Plus it's effectively androgenous, age indeterminate etc.
