THEN vs. NOW: How are you different? - by Wynne

I didn't really have a plan, I just wanted to make money somehow and get out of dead-end jobs. That's one of the reasons why I went into IT. I never thought I'd go there, since had always been pretty crap at math. Only, it turned out that somehow it all clicked during the last year of high school and I got a pretty good score on my test, so it was one of the few options open to me. Anyway, I thought it would work out great, since I liked programming, but found that I didn't really like working as one. I never knew how toxic and stressful the environment could be for a lowly code monkey. So, anyway, during college I had started translating as a hobby and it gradually turned into a real job and in the end I went and got a degree in that.
Anyway, right now I'm starting a teaching job and that's something I never thought I'd do either. Never was particularly good with people, but now I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. Those public speaking classes were useful for something after all.

I'm still not sure how Noid managed to write so many posts...
