Now that we have somehow revived so many old TTLG:ers, I'd like to see more replies to this thread. Go on, you know you want to post.

Better. Stronger. Faster. Balder.

I care less and I've a new motto - "Idiocy will never die."
Other than that, pretty much the same.
Oh, I quite like a lot of what Joran Peterson says and I'm a fan of Sam Harris's "Waking Up" podcast, thought I though the one on medicine was soooo Americkeeen.

Ooh the Fall guy! He also played Ash's father in the Ash vs. Evil Dead series, like 2 years ago. He was one of the better parts of that series, which was otherwise held back by a hamfisted attempt to modernize it with 2 lifeless sidekicks and to create some overarching storyline when this one in particular would have been perfect for weekly reset show.
Anyway. I have no idea what I did 20 years ago. I've seen some tough times since then, like losing two unborn children. But I may be adopting one! We'll see. My wife says I can't name it Bronski Beat though, because they usually come with a name. We'll see about that too.

I thought the sidekicks made a good backboard for Ash to play off of. I loved the series. The Lucy Lawless character was jammed into it at an odd angle but it's LUCY LAWLESS so who cares? I could have watched it for eight more years at least. Loved Ashes old boyhood room and his friend that Ted Rami played. And yeah, Lee was perfect as his father. I had a bid in on his dismembered body parts but they were taken off before bidding ended.
I hate that you suffered such a loss, Kolya. I mean that. I can think of nothing more devastating. Fingers crossed on your adoption. I think you would warp a kid in good and interesting ways.

Thanks Tocky. I'll do my best if I get the chance.

Can I maybe change the tone of this thread?
My question is this. vaguely keeping with the original post:
20 years ago, what were your plans for your future life, and how many of them came true? Why? Why not? What happened? What didn't happen?
I'll start with a couple of lines to get all the nostalgia started.
25 years ago I was at university, thinking my plan was to find a girl to fall in love with, marry, have a few kids with, all the boring stuff. Very pedestrian.
Actual life turned out quite differently. I'm now a widower in Scotland. I've had some amazing times, but none of what I predicted or hoped for. Life has thrown me a couple of unexpected curve balls, and you just have to adapt.
What's your story?

Hmm. 20 years ago lands in a pretty tumultuous time in my life. 25 years old. Midway through a return to College. Not particularly clear on what I was going to do with my life, although the answer "A lot of programming" would not have been any surprise. Romantically, well, I don't speak (nor write) of those times any more, but settling down and kicking out a few kids was definitely on my long term goal list so that panned out alright, I suppose.

20 years ago I met a bunch of people who ended up being lifelong friends. It also pretty much set me up on the path that got me to today, with my current job and life. There's a lot I should have done differently but as it all lead to this, I can't find myself regretting most of it. Wish I'd spent more time at home though.
