recently, ive been trying (on a small scale) to break into the local theatre scene. i traveled to the local theatre center and to my suprise, local, straight, young men are in suprising demand. this week alone i have auditioned for three plays and one musical. two of the three plays are only 5 minute performances and i obtained both rolls. one play is still being written, but i was asked to play an important part once produced next year. the musical is being put on by a production company run by a missionary that has recently returned to the area. its about joseph in egypt. I auditioned for the part of a fallen angel, Aknon, one of the main roles. my acting was good enough to secure a second audition, (1 of 3 people out of 30 to be recalled) but during this i have to perform a duet with the lead character. Cant say im not a bit nervous, im a weak singer. any pointers for putting on a good show (singing)without too much singing talent?
ive done some small scale theatre before now, but i think ive finally found what i want to do. and as they say, after you know what you want to do, the rest is just work.

you have a way with tautology. USE IT.
Seriously though, the thing about singing if you can't is confidence. I mean, it can backfire, but ennunciate clearly, if you miss a few notes then it shouldn't be a disaster. And watch My Fair Lady with Rex Harrison as a prime example of how not to sing whilst singing songs.

So, how long until the director asks you to bend over?
I'm betting 2 weeks.

Take heed WAREAGLE. That's how he lured me in when he first came here and MY BOTTOM STILL BURNS.

Talented singers are hard to come by. I am not a great singer either. I try though :p
Well, practice makes perfect right? Just continue to sing on your own time. Do you have much musical talent? Enough to maybe use a piano to get your voice to match different pitches? That is how I get by really.
Also if someone could maybe write the voice music. It is a possibility. *shrugs* Even if you screw up, just relax and not freak out. Continue as if it is natural. That is where a lot of mistakes are made *laughs*
Well, goodluck! Hope what I said helps a little bit.:thumb:
