Shucks, now I feel embarrassed to admit I actually started and completed a third, New Game Plus Deathmarch save in order to play Hearts of Stone.

Just started playing this a couple of days ago and I've just finished the Griffin quest (my character is level 2 right now and pretty close to leveling). I chose "Blood and broken bones" as difficulty. I didn't pick the hardest one since I haven't played any of the earlier Witcher games but I didn't want it to be too easy either so it seemed like a good compromise.
I actually ordered it a few months ago when it was available at a slightly reduced price but I haven't gotten around to playing it until now because I've been playing Bloodborne and then SotFS and I didn't want to switch back and forth between games.

That it is, even on my 3yr old rig.
I finally made it to and out of Kaer Morgen (?). Jesus this game. just. wont. end. But I think its coming to a closure.
At least its not the "take one step forward take 2 steps back" of some of the Novigorad quests. "Oh hai we heard you like plot archs so we put a plot arch in your plot arch so you can quest while you quest!" :p

IT IS DONE!
Finally got to the end, after nearly 4 months of playing this(mostly just on weekends). The ending was great. Overall, great game. Perhaaaaps a tad too long? I thought for sure I had entered the endgame about a month ago when I got to the part where you retrieve Ciri, but nope, there's like an entire game's worth of main story progress still to go. Then again, I'd hesitate to cut anything out because it's all really good stuff.
Up next, I'll give The Witcher 2 another go. If that doesn't tickle me I might check out the Hearts of Stone DLC.

Aww dang, STILL trying to beat this. Been stuck on the main evil elven dude boss fight after you kill the 3 witches as ciri, dude is frikkin impossible after he drops his shield. I'm just thinking of lowering the difficulty just so I can move on already.

That was a tough fight, but I did get through it in one go. Barely. Used up a lot of my spare potions and food on it tho. You've still got quite a bit to go after that fight however. ;)

Henke - TW2 is awesome and has IMO the best character in the whole series in Iorveth.

I think I've said it before, and probably to you faetal, but the best thing about W2 for me was the order I played it in. First playthrough, I went with Roche. Second, I went with Iorveth, and was completely blown away by one of the big reveals that I just had no clue about the first time through. It was more powerful precisely because I'd had no idea about it and CDPR don't even mention it in the Roche playthrough. Playing it the other way around would have been less dramatic I feel, and subsequently I always recommend two playthroughs of W2, with the first always being with Roche.

First time I played TW2 I only made it up to the fight with the Assassin(in a cave in the forrest by Flotsam, iirc) before I gave up. Too much complexity compared to how much I was enjoying it. After having finished TW3 tho, it's a breeze, and I'm having a good time with it, even though it's plagued a bit by clunky movement, and last-gen's disases like QTEs and awful stealth sections in games not made for stealth.
Anyway, I'm currently searching for Ostmurk, about to battle the Kaydrak(or whatever it's called), and enjoying myself. Not enjoying myself so much I'm about to play through it twice tho. So I should go with Iorveth? I kinda like Vernon(tho not enough to not let Djikstra kill him at the end of TW3), and would probably have gone with him if you hadn't said anything.
